Oh yeahhhhh, that would be awesome, but I would still be happy with my guess of 27,995 for LT2/RS (I realize that is pretty optomistic, but I can hope right?) And I think 29,995 for SS would still be very competitive with GT stang, and yeah a FEW people who new pretty much nothing about cars would buy the stang because of the 1.5-2k difference, but those are the kind of people I would not driving a Camaro. And, of course, GM needs to make some sweet $$$$$ of this car too lol!

Well they will lose the R&D investment and make negative profit on this car if it isn't priced fairly close to the Mustang. I am sorry but thinking that only "a FEW" would buy Mustang over Camaro because of price is just being ignorant, no offense.

well here's my thinking, 22,999 for the base LS.... then maybe 2k for the LT and another thousand for the 2LT which brings us to approx. 25,999 and then maybe another 1500 for RS, which is roughly 27,499 which is still good for me, i could do that
i could be way off but this is my thinking.

The average consumer is ignorant and doesn't do all of the research and know all of the things that we know about the cars. They just see 2 different sports cars and pick the cheaper one to the most part. If they are similarly priced then they will look closer and see that the Camaro is better and will buy it instead.

me too. You're starting to approach 2008 Vette pricing with that. They are still on dealer lots and really, really cheap.

GoldFire, I would have to say you're on fire with your thoughts (in a good way). WHEN pricing comes out, it absolutely has to stop people dead in their tracks- as in NOT EVEN BOTHER to go look at the Mustang much less the Challenger. They don't need to run with the competition; they need to beat them up and send them home whimpering. I agree with you that the AVERAGE car buyer (sports car for sure) cares 1st about price. Period. The boys at GM aren't marketing this car to us; they already have us.

My GUESSES:

1LS $22,850
1LT $23,900
2LT $26,700
1SS $28,650
2SS $31,895

RS for V6 $2200 gets 20" wheels the V8 already has
RS for V8 $1200

Stripe Package $700 (It is vinyl afterall)
Sunroof $850
Ground Effects Pkg $2400

Last edited by trm0002; 10-12-2008 at 09:57 PM. Reason: pricing GUESS

Lets hope I am right....and let's hope we get pricing soon...the wait for the car is killing me...but the wait for the price I think is even worse....I know the car is coming....its the price that may keep the car from coming into my driveway...so I pretty much worry about price more everyday than I do looking forward to the car...I still don't understand why pricing hasn't been released... I mean options and accessories and trim levels are released...we know that they have a good idea on what it will be...so why not go ahead and make a final decision and let us know!!!! but whatever happens....the Camaro is coming back...and we are looking at about 5 monthes before it is on the road!!!!

I was hoping it would be less, more around $1750, but I have not done the research to see how much each part you get with the RS package actually costs. Hopefully those HID's have come down in price cause if I remember correctly they are quite price, as were the 20's. But it seems nowadays lots more cars have 20's, and the spoiler should not be much at all to add.

wow.....even if the SS is 30k and the Mustang is 28,725...thats only 1275 more for IRS, Brembo brakes, a six speed, and 100 more HP. And some of you would buy the Mustang instead??? Thats retarded thinking.

Not the point. THIS CAR HAS TO SELL AND SELL WELL. GM spent a boatload of money and time on this. They can't be late to the party and then charge admission.
