DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A SKIP SHIFT MOD!!!!
I have only seen it pop up ONCE in the over 500 miles I have on this car already. My wife drove it and it never happens. You have to be going SOOO slow for it to even kick in, uyou might as well go to 4th gear. I am very serious, NEVER EVEN have problem with it. SAVE YOUR MONEY

if you get the skip shift it's because you don't get on the gas enough just press that pedal and GO!!! and then you'll be ok for 2nd gear.. don't drive it like a grandmother!just enough to pass it.. i have it on my t/a and i have to be slow to get it and shift to 4th.. oh well.. i know we don't drive all the same but you CAN go and get in gear before that darn thing kicks in.

Yes...Once I get my car I'll provide a how-to with pics. You basically have to put the car on jackstands (or ramps), get under the car, find the connector to the skip shift solenoid (on 4th Gen, located near the top of the transmission) and put the eliminator in line. You just have to make sure you don't hook it up to the wrong conncector, like the reverse lockout solenoid. Like I said, once I get my car and install it (which will be the same day), I'll post up the how-to.
Takes 5-10 minutes and you NEVER have to worry about the skip shift surprise while stuck in an intersection (like what happened to my 4th Gen).

It doesn't pop up for me very often because I usually give it enough gas in 1st but even though it's a little rare, it's still very annoying and I hate it.

I know this is an OLD thread..my husband ran across it today.
I was driving in Gulfport, MS this past weekend and had the skip shift happen to me 2x...in stop and go traffic. OMG....it was very embarrassing . Sounds like we'll be purchasing the "Skip Shift Eliminator". Has anyone installed it on their car? Are their any issues I should know about before I purchase it? Thanks for any info. |

LOL...If it wouldn't have been for traffic, I would have drove it like I stole it. Thanks for your comment...my husband already spent $15.00 and purchased one. |

The eliminator is super easy to install just get up under the car and it takes about 2 minutes. Just make sure you get the skip shift solenoid and not the reverse lock out one. (it'll plug into both)
