Actually, according to the law, you were parked. You were not in your vehicle and you were taking photos outside of it. I actually had a cop define the difference for me once. You sir, were parked......for however brief an amount of time...you were parked.

Look, all I know is experience is the best teacher. I had an 04 GTO (Smartbuy) previous to the Camaro.

Year one for the GTO: 6 door dings- 4 in the passenger and 2 in the driver- didn't like it but really didn't give a crap since it was going to be GM's car again anyways...

Year one for the Camaro- ZERO dings. Enough said.

Now, as for the Corvette sandwiched in in an earlier picture, I blame that as much on the developer of the mall/lot/whatever. These asshats want to fit two extra cars in each row for the "big shopping rush" that MAY happen once a year at Christmas. For the most part, if developers made the parking spaces 8-10" wider I'd wager that 80% of the door dings per year would vanish. Want to really blame someone- blame them.

Funny, these are similar to thoughts I have when I see people parked like that.

Luckily, I'm not the type of guy who would key another car. If I were...my days would be QUITE busy.

By the way, trm0002, if you can actually comprehend what you read, you'll see that I had a cop EXPLAIN it to me. I am not a cop.

I know who said what- just that's what I would be thinking when the cop was telling me I was "parked"...

As for the "people parked like that", like I said, I park as far away in the lot as is possible and as some have mentioned, if the lot is "crowded", I just don't go there. There has never been a time where there weren't at least 6 spots between me and the next closest car. If there isn't ample parking for at least a 6-car cushion, I just don't go or I go get the Impala and return later. I would venture to say that most of the time I'm more like 14-16 cars out and if anyone has a problem with that, they really need a life.

If people would take the responsibility for fixing other people's cars when they open their doors into them this wouldn't be an issue either. Ultimately it's the people who just don't give a shit about other people's property that are the arrogant pricks- not us folks who are simply trying to avoid getting our property damaged. Our parking is the result, not the cause.

I wouldn't ever think of doing something to someones car because they are arrogant and don't know how to park or probally drive. I always park at the end of the lot where there is nobody around or beside another nice car if need be.
