I'm 25, so I guess I still count as young. I just got a 2LT/RS at the end of April and I pay for everthing myself. Got a killer interest rate though (3%).
I had been saving up for a 2SS since I had been driving the same '96 Grand Am for about 10 years. I paid for half of that baby in high school and up until now it was my first and only car. Unfortunately, the transmission went out and it died a littler earlier than I planned. It wouldn't have been a big deal but the basement of my house also decided to start caving in at the same time, and I also needed to get my driveway replaced since it was crumbling. So I ended up making the V-6 work. Thanks to Camaro Scotty for helping me get a good deal even though I didn't end up buying from him. I work as a web developer for the local county government. Probably could have paid cash for the car if I hadn't bought a house three months out of college. |

I am 22, put a 8000 down payment on it. Sold my sunfire and saved for a few months. I had over 15,000 but with some unexpected curve balls I had to cut back on my original 15,000 down payment. Work for the family business since I was 16. Payments are 622.00 a month (311.00 every 2 weeks) Got this without a co signer and was approved for 6000.00 down but I gave 8000. Paying for this all on my own and it feels great. I applaud all you young dudes who are paying for this on your own, you really appreciate things a lot more when you pay for them on your own. After reading some posts on this thread it irritates me how people just assume mommy and daddy buy these for them/us. Like one of you said, who cares what people thing it's what we want and sure as shit ain't getting these babies handed to us.
PS - Little advice to all you kids under 18, get a credit card as soon as possible, those things are a must for building a solid credit rating. Use it and pay it off quickly. Don't be a moron and max it out lol, without that I would have very little credit and with the way the economy is now it is so hard to get loans without help. My dad almost fell over when I told him I got the loan for the camaro, he thought for sure he would have to co sign.

Just turned 32. Have a 2010 2SS paid off. 2007 Z06 paid off. 2007 Escalade paid off. 2010 Denali paid off. 2010 CTS V Paid off. 2009 Audi R8 paid off. I have a townhome thats being rented out, and just had a 4000 sq. foot home built and moving into it tomorrow. Four kids, a wife, and worked hard to get what I have today. Thank you to my wife and kids for support. Started my own business when I was 25 and never looked back. Tip: Start your own business and work for yourself.
