Well said, Scott.

For those of you complaining about the price of the car, you really need to look at the features and build quality versus the other cars the Camaro will be pitted against in the magazine articles. Independent rear on a Mustang? Nope. ONE Piece stamping integrating the entire rear of the car to the firewall at considerable expense for the sake of body rigidity and handling on ANY OF the "competition" in the price range? NO!

You really have to go back and look at all of the features that are in our Camaro that the others do not even come close to offering in this price range. Go look at a BMW 335Ci and tell me what it is priced at when you equip it like a Camaro with the same options...(HINT: It starts at a BASE of $42,000!) Blue paint is an extra $550! I finished 'my' 335ci as I would my order on a 2SS/RS Blue Automatic with leather - the BMW came in at $51,098. I just saved nearly $10,000 over the price of a BMW by ordering the Camaro, which is the car of my dreams. Now, you still wish to complain?

I chose the BMW 335Ci as my comparison because it is probably the closest in horsepower, options, and has an independent rear suspension, and is a new Model for 2009.

We are listening to you. Evidence: polished wheels on the RS.

What DOES bother people, at least in my opinion, are 'shoot from the hip' statements like " GM screwed us with the price! The good news? The decorum on this site -- and a few others is well maintained.........and I hope it will stay that way. We want your feedback! Just 'think' before you type -- and keep it friendly.

(think of it this way: just before you hit 'send' -- ask yourself: would I send this email to my Grandparents or my Preacher/Priest?)
Thanks for posting Scott.
I know you don't make every single decision on the Camaro, so I hope you don't take any offense to what some of us have been posting.

The 5th gen is BEAUTIFUL. It's priced right. It DESTROYS the competition.
My only concern is that he 4th gen had a similar power-to-weight ratio to Corvette. Now it does not. Since weight appears harder to shed than it is to add horsepower, I was hoping for a "budget" version of the LS7 or LSA at the current LS3 price point.

You and GM have DESTROYED the Mustang and Challenger in my opinion. It that was your goal, mission accomplished.

The complaints are fine with me. It's hearing (reading) them repeatedly that gets old...wait a minute...that's it!! I don't have to stay on that thread or that post and continue reading those same old complaints...I'm a genius!

In all seriousness though, I doubt gripes now will have much affect on our cars, but yes we gotta let them know what's wrong.

Heads Up Display. Some of the intrumentation appears on the windshield. Like what they use in jet fighters.

Head Up Display.

It shows things like speed and g-force on a display like in fighter aircraft. Here it is in the Corvette

There must be a switch to turn HUD off or on, yes?

Can you customize what it displays?

I don't know. What they do for the Corvette might not be the same as what they do for the Camaro, so even that info would only be a rough guide.

Thanks Scott for helping everyone realize some of the ancillary things that go into producing any vehicle.

As you well know, I have been a big booster of this car. I do have some concerns but, I keep my comments civil. Having said that, I would also echo your other comments about comparing the value of this vehicle with its features versus those of the Mustang and Challenger.

Seriously folks, a 2SS versus either of those competitors is a heck of a value. 422 HP, IRS, and all the other doo-dads, that aren't there in the competition and all for under $35k.

Now, my only gripes are the paint availability (I know I told you I wanted Red Jewel Tintcoat) but Imperial Blue Metallic is awful nice and would look terrific on an SS.

My only other disappointment is the unavailability of White and the HUD at startup.

Otherwise, if I can find a local dealer not marking up the price, I'll be there.

I would say yes, you will be able to turn it on and off.... hell even my 2001 Grand Prix has that option.
