when you replace rear end gears (will be getting 3.73s for my L99), do you need to do a speedometer/odometer correction? saw a kit for this when i was researching.

Yes you will need correction, unless you don't care that the speedometer/odometer is reading incorrectly. Not sure what kit you are referring to, but essentially it is all done the same way using a handheld tuner, a speedometer calibrator or with a visit to a tuning shop.

Personally, I'm working on increasing airflow and power, and suspension to keep the wheels to the ground. Once I have the level of power I want, and the vehicle handles it well, I plan to do all the bushings for better overall traction and handling, at that point it makes sense to invest a few more dollars and upgrade the gears.
So, like you I did CAI, headers, new exhaust, I invested in some suspension upgrades and body / chassis stiffening. Next I'm upgrading the CAM, springs, rockers (for safety / strength), for increased power with a CAM that will give me a good balance of low end TQ, a good HP increase and a really cool chop to go with the new exhaust.
Personally, when I make my upgrade choices I visualize what I'm going to do in the future to see what makes a cost / benefits and results along with my HP's / TQ's,
etc....

Since my old thread was brought up to the surface I will comment on it.
I have decided at this time to pass on the 4:10s since there are issues with them. Until these issues are worked out I will keep what I have for now.
Instead,I am now focussing on either going heads/intake package and go non aspirated for now or heads/supercharger package.
