Nine ball, Hi can a ask you something? Are most of the rimes that are not working right have there TPS in the rear of the rim? It may be the placement of the receivers in the car for the TPS, And that may be why there losing contact with the sensors.

Its something that i was thinking for the last 10 months.

Not a placement issue. Just some sort of software/program issue with the system.

I just confirmed that the 12768826 TPMS will not work in the newer model cars. Mine is VIN A9164866. I ordered the 12768826 part number from GMDirect. Installed the new wheels/tires last night. Going to work this morning, they lost the signal. Is there any way the computer can be user programmed ( with handheld programmer) back to the 315Mhz setting, or is the tire pressure sensor computer separate?

Nine Ball, did you happen to check the part number of the OEM sensors you put in Adub's wheels?

I'm taking my car in today and I'm going to put the sensors I bought from my dealer in them.

I sure hope this works!

Don't believe this is a 100% true statement. This is the part number of the sensors factory installed in my Feb 2010 build car. I think this just reinforces that the issue is with the TPMS software, not the sensor hardware. It seems the factory software does not properly learn the new sensor regardless of manufacturer.

I'm taking my car in today to have the GM sensors I bought from my dealer. I really don't want to take apart my stock wheels, so I bought new sensors from my dealer. They match the numbers on adub's sensors. I'll let you know if they work.

I'm not sure what part of my statement is not 100% true, that I didn't change tires, that I didn't order the sensors, or that the sensor signal was lost????

Seriously, I assume you meant my statement that the sensors would not work with the newer cars, and it seems you are correct. It appears it indeed is a software issue.

I reset all the sensors again, and have driven greater than 20 miles with no further problems. This morning, I had only driven ~ 12 miles when it happened.

I'll let everyone know if I lose signal again. Looking forward to hearing how Darth_Emmas car does.

I just dropped my car off at the shop. I should have it back tomorrow. I'll probably have the sensors scanned in at the dealer on Monday. I'll post again when I have an update.

Correct, its not exactly true that the part number does not work on newer cars as it is factory installed on newer cars.

The software just sucks. I'm still surprised someone from GM hasn't chimed in.

It appears my problem is gone. Over 50 miles since last reset with no problems. I don't know why it didn't take the first time, but I'm just relieved it now works!

I Agree. Seems there was no lack of response from the "experts" when the subject was reprogramming the control unit. JMHO
