Souunds like a little more then 50lbs.

You are saying people know what they are talking about on ls1tech? lol must not have been around it for very long.
I thought we were talking about a GT500....not a GT. What other car would we be talking about that has 100 more ft lbs down low...sure as heck not the GT.

Read the post/posts....which was exactly my point.
BTW...the curb weight of the SS is 3860 or 3849 depending on the source. You come on here making claims etc and you dont even know something so simple about the 5th gen? Exactly my point again.

And yes I have been a member of ls1tech for 6 years.

Google search showed 3780... sorry I don't have the exact facts off hand.

That is a very general rule of thumb that works fairly well for cars running in the 12s - 14s that aren't subject to serious wheelspin.

In your case, and in the case of a stock GT500 - assuming both are on regular compound street tires - a few hundred pounds or 10-50 RWHP isn't going to make a huge difference simply because neither car is going to be able to take advantage of either the lighter weight (GT500) or more ponies (you) due to extremely limited traction. In short - he/she who launches better and loses less time on the shifts (both how quick the shifts are made and how well he/she controls wheelspin) should win.

Put a tire on both cars and have them driven by excellent, experienced drag racers, and you should come out on top.

There....my contribution to this version of bench/internet racing.

how much was the 528rwhp engine package TOTAL? every single mod done? 37,000 dollar car PLUS mods. 10k in mods? 47,000? prices are close enough for me.

its the LS3 guys quoting torque at every corner. now a 500lb-ft motor all the way to 5500 is slower. the ls3 loses torque battle.

imo his 528rwhp GEN5 wins if it hooks. if the gt500 gets a tun/cai/pulley the all motor ls3 is whooped.

Nor Cal Guy's... I will be at Sacramento Raceway for Friday night Test and Tune if anyone want's to go heads up. I went last week and it was good time's, alot better then Wednesday's. I spent more time driving back on the return road then I spent waiting in line.

My friend is also going to bring his 2011 GT and if im lucky I might get my DR's in time.

Keep it on the track

The 528whp Camaro should be able to get the win but you never know. Evan Smith ran a best of 11.5x in a 2010 w/ sticky's and im pretty sure we will be seeing 11.2's on sticky's for the 2011 w/ svt PP maybe even quicker with a 26" tall tire. I'm crossing my fingers for a 10.9x at Englishtown this fall but that would have to be the perfect driver on the perfect day.
