On Star can do absolutely nothing about the M6 no remote start issue. GM would have to have you bring your car in and make changes.

This will never happen. Safety features would have to be bypassed and GM will NEVER take that kind of liability.

i had one on a manual but i had to take off the cluch swich and i dont recommend it becuse i left it in gear and it drove off into the river wean i crunk it up

Yeah I got a little story about remote starter on a standard cars:
A colleague of mine at work nicely offered me his tuned up Sub WRX to go grab some food at diner time. Hand break was loose so i automatically parked the car in first gear. Later on my colleague started his car remotely and the starter was strong enough to bring the engine to a start . it ended up hitting a brand new BMW X3 causing few thousands of damage on it.

I had a remote start on a '98 Dodge Ram 1500 manual. It took off on me once when I was showing a friend. The truck actually started in gear. Luckily I was in a loading dock area and there were no semi's in front of me.

You could get remote start on your M6, but it will not be through GM or OnStar ever.

All I wanted was a simple Android App to start my car, roll down windows, maybe a camera to see what's going on remotely, remote slushy maker, trunk monkey, pizza oven, dirty hot dog water with bun steamer, rocket launcher, 7.62mm laser sighted weapons, oil slick, smoke screen, hypnotic ray, RU-486 dispenser, Xbox live with headlight digital projector. Is that so much to ask for Onstar?

Guys go to ONstar's facebook page and bitch. A bunch of us have been bitching and they seem reasonably responsive. (since this is sort of an advertising page for them it catches their attention)

Yes you can buy them. Also this is not an added remote start. If onstar wants to start your car it just sends a signal through onstar, no need for a module to do it.

But it sounds as if a module or sort is in the newer onstar for the 2011's and not the 2010's/ if you ask me. How lame is that?

I wouldn't go blaming GM... it's likely OnStar's deal since it's their app. Unfortunate but not at all unexpected. Hopefully the support for the 2010 gets added. I'm screwed though being a manual guys... unless they can give me some basic commands (and make it available on Windows).

I'm with the people that said we should get an upgrade for free....bet anything it's an easy fix too...
