It's a Monday what can I say.

However I have a stall converter. Cannot tell much of a difference in daily driving but seems to help some at the strip. Converter was put on when I went FI so I cannot give you much of direct comparison. I don't think I'd get it if I was NA or not spraying.

I'd definitely hold off on the converter. I've seen a few people who have it and haven't seen any numbers to say it's worth the $700.

Good for maybe 5hp? Not really worth it since I don't think you can install it yourself.

Do you guys think a ported throttle body is really necessary to go along with a ported intake manifold + a vararam?

I want to give the track one more go. I'm worried about my tranny though, my car pops out of third semi frequently...

No, it isn't really necessary. I have a vararam and the ported manifold and my throttle response is almost instantaneous. I feel like a ported throttle body would be a waste of money now. I might get one in the future if I run out of things to do but I'm not planning on it.

Ah okay Ill take that advice. I'll put that extra money into getting the iceolator port matched with it.

I'm mad worried to take my car into the dealer though! Could they somehow blame me and make me pay to fix the tranny? I have the stock 2nd gear grind and it pops out of 3rd frequently.

All I have is a vararam so they cant blame it on mods...

I really want the carbon synchros repair before I add power.

I'd at least give it a shot. The worst they can do is say no and you're just back where you started. If you only have the vararam, remove it and throw in the stock air box so there's no doubt at all. Then take a service guy for a ride so he can hear the grind.

I'm afraid that if they open the tranny and decide its driver error I'll be stuck with a large bill. I'm pretty sure they will fix it without issue, they rebuilt my engine without issue and have always been good to me.

I've got some documents from people on here who had tranny warranty work I'm going to bring so I've got a strong case.
