What a crappy day. Brought my DD in for an oil change because I don't feel like laying on cold cement right now. Found out that my steering fluid and brake fluid needs to be changed. Plus my coolant for my tranny is leaking a little bit and some engine oil is leaking around the gasket of the oil pan. On top of that my side marker lights were burnt out. They also said that I could use a major fuel injection clean and throttle body clean. Oh, and my brake calipers could use some lubrication...Hmm...I think I will stick with getting the leaks fixed first. Everything else can wait. Its a 2001 Chevy Impala so its 11 years old.

Sounds like a stelership trying to up sale. Throttle body clean is noting to do, as far as flushing ps and brake, buy a suction gun, or a turkey baster suck out and replace that's all they will do, side marker lights should also be any easy fix. And I have never heard of lubing brake calipers?? I can help with most when I get back to moving around. And if you don't have puddles from oil leaks, I would not be worried about them, most older cars leak some, unless it's pouring out let it go, and buy toys for camaro. This is all just my thoughts. Oh and go buy a fuel injection cleaner and add to gas do it to two tanks and it's about the same as paying them $200

I usually change my oil every 3000 on my own. This last time the oil was very low on the stick and that is not normal for my car. I will probably wait til the next oil change and then replace the gasket myself. Seems simple enough.

Well, I do have a little bit of oil on my garage floor and before the oil change the oil was very low in the engine. So that is my first fix. I saw this transmission place Iowa Overdrive. They fix transmission problems, but I found out after talking to them that I am not going there. All he was going to do was cut off the crimped end piece and put another end piece and then place a rubber clamp over the two tubes. He said the GM tubes always seems to have troubles a couple years down the road.

Which leads me to my next question. The coolant in the radiator has two lines. One for the engine and one for the transmission...Right? Pat McGraths, Kind of confused me and made me believe that the transmission uses its own coolant? If so how do you fill it up?

A friend of mine from work will have winter storage available for next year. Sounds like he has a huge building, heated and insulated. It is located near North Liberty which is a few miles south of CR. I think James mentioned something about a group of us getting the cars stored for winter. We have plenty of time to check it out.

Well, it looks like my search for another Camaro is over.

After much mileage and dealers low-balling me on my trade-in, I finally settled on a new silver, 2012 2LS with black racing stripes.

Getting the fender flares and afterburner tailights thrown in on the deal too.

Don't know when it will be here, but Lon is working on it in a dealer trade.

SO, long story short, I now have an extra set of 18" heritage rims with all weather BF Goodrich tires for trade.

Looking for the 4 gage cluster(for V6 automatic), cargo net, and $100 in trade.

Let me know if you're interested.

Congrats on the new Camaro intimidator...how long until the mods begin?

Speaking of mods: Here is a shot under the hood. These just came back to me at 5 tonight!!

Eddies Rod and Custom did an AWESOME job smoothing and painting these covers. They then polished the living hell out of the aluminum. Sorry for the cell phone pic.

NICE! Sounds like James is ready to start modding immediately. I look forward to seeing the new car. Have you picked a name yet? I am going to modify my MRT exhaust with some Helmholz pipes to tame/vanquish the in cabin drone. I don't mind the sound but most people complain haha. I will let you know how this goes and take you for a drive to show the effectiveness.

On a side note, I have an interview with SPO on Tuesday for an ME in the Cast Iron Machining department.

Oh one more thing. I have owned my car for a year now well one year as of the 18th. I have put on 36,400 miles since then. Best car I have ever owned hands down. Glad to be part of the Camaro and 5th gen squad.

Dammit! You made me look!!!!

And there is a scratch on the car. It is underneath on the top side of the crossmember...must have happened during assembly.

Congrats James - nice color too.

Congrats Scott- nice paint job. It's funny, I was just at Eddies with mine on our 'Last Outing'- 2days before the snow. Got a nice tour around-never new it was there.

Yeah SPO in Waterloo. I currently work at DSM Works Bldg. 2 Dept. 40. I do not recall there being a Bldg. 40 but if you are here you should shoot me a text and I will come over and BS with you for awhile.
