Nooo! That was one of my concerns with the splitter. I drive back streets of Houston so I was really worried about pot holes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah youd have to be careful with potholes, but in my case is was just poor installation.

Any tricks to securing these splitters? the shop that did mine did a horrible job and the thing flew off. All they used were self tapping screws and 3M tape.

I love my LS! Having the base model gives us a lot to do custom wise. However, performance parts for it are lacking. There are not a lot of options for mods, but there are mods out there. I've owned my for about 9 months now and have put a considerable amount of money into it. Here is what I have in order of installs...
1. C.A.I intake (by far the cleanest install, bought it with an ADM scoop and the Roto-fab washer reservoir as a kit) bought from AutoAgenda, they had a great deal on the kit... I think $570 for everything. 2. HID lights...ebay crap... worked for about 3 months then a ballast went out. I recommend them but by from a reputable seller, not on ebay. its about twice as much but most come with a lifetime warranty. 3. Hurst short throw shifter... $189... well worth it. Makes changing gears feel real and fairly simple install, just remember to put those centering springs back in. bought from Phastek performnce... BY FAR THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have received all my orders within 3 days of ordering. 4. RX oil catch can... $200. RevXtreme offers a ton of options for this kit color-wise and add-ons. The OCC is argued by many on whether it is worth it or not. I believe it is. It is not a performance part, it is a preventative maintenance part. After 200 miles it collected about an 1/8 of an ounce of oil that will not end up in m intake or on my valves. RevXtreme is also another good online store. 5. RX ICE-olator... $150... It works, I don't know if I got any gains because I installed at the same time as my headers, but I can put my hand on the cast aluminum manifold after a hard run and not burn them so i know it works. Side note... if you plan to put this on either by an extra manifold gasket or a gasket maker... some say RTV Silicone... I used Honda-bond on the head to the Iceolator and the original gasket from the Iceolator to the IM. 6. BBK Headers... $800... Phastek offers BBK stainless-steel, ceramic coated or T-304 headers. The kit can come with Cats or without. I bought the T-304 with cats during a sale they had. Not a bad deal. Install can be challenging at some points but I posted a thread that kinda helps and Im sure there are more out there. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=350472 7. Magnaflow Cat-back... $1100+... If purchasing magnaflow go through one of their authorized dealers so their lifetime warranty is kept. A lot of owners recommend MRT V2 and 1.0. I think its all in preference. 8. The + to my magnaflow is the carbon fiber rear valance I bought. It was required as I now have dual center exhaust... $315... bought from carparts.com... they suck go somewhere else. StreetScene is the maker and they are pretty nice people out in CA. 9. Black-out for my tail lights and side markers... $45... from Phastek... another fast shipment ordered on monday got on wednesday. 10. Factory O.E.M bumper cover... courtesy of my roommate who backed into my car with his SS silverado. Just if anyone is curious the MSRP is $404 for the oem bumper cover. paint an labor is $825. 11. STO-N-SHO detachable front license plate bracket... $90... bought from Phastek and have not put it on yet... I am waiting on my chin splitter from StreetScene. Almost forgot... since I got a fresh clean paint job on my front bumper I bought a clear bra from cleardefender.com... $250 for Suntek PPF... $235 for Xpel... $225 for 3M I bought the Suntek and it should arrive tomorrow... I've heard horror stories of installing these, So I let everyone know and post a thread letting y'all know how it goes

A clear bra would probably be one of those things better left to a professional
