I have added it to our calendar at ace5.org.

Is anyone going to the John Thornton Chevrolet monthly meet? If not, I'm going to remove it from our calendar.

Camaro Car Corral - Road Atlanta

I heard from a Camaro5 member from Ohio who has done Camaro Car Corrals at Indy and Mid Ohio that the Grand Am Series is looking for a contact to organize a Camaro Corral for the Grand Am event at Road Atlanta 4/19 & 4/20. I provided her my contact information to pass on, but thought I would see if there is sufficient interest by our club before I committed to anything.

I have never participated in a corral before, but I do know that going to the Grand Am event at Road Atlanta would be a blast. There are several Camaros that race in both the Rolex series and the Continental Tire Series, and I believe the corral might include some meet and greet with the Camaro teams, pit passes (all tickets), and maybe parade laps around the track. It also includes reserved parking as a group in an area roped off for us. I saw several of these at the race back in October, which included Porshe, Covettes, BMW, etc.

It won't be worth the effort unless we have a large group that is interested. I know it is a long way off, but I would like to see how many people are interested and if we would like to use this as a club event.

It will take a lot of support from several people, but I will volunteer to be the contact to get things started. My contact information has been passed on to the guy at Grand Am, so I would like to get some idea of responses as soon as possible.
