I have a problem. I hooked everything up and it works. If I turn my engine on I get a loud pop from my subs. And the buttons don't light up, but the screen does. When the car is off with the key turned to acc everything works as usual. Any ideas? My amps power cable isn't hooked up to the radio. Could that be causing these problems?

Good to knkw keep is updated. I want to get one but seems like there are still bugs to work and no 1gb ram...did you have to cut down the unit to fit and also desolder that transistor or w.e it was?

Was it a perfect fit? Did light from behind the unit show from the top where most had issues with a gap?

My system came with 4.0 so I can't say for that upgrade, but with the update I did to get the OBDII bluetooth working the files needed to be in the root directory of the card.

I had to do fitting to get mine to be a great fit. I also have found that on hotter days it does not appear to be making a good connection for the A/C controls. I believe this is caused by the heat making the dash and unit expand just enough to stop those connections from working good. I am going to try using a little larger spacers behind the in dash part of the unit. That should bring it a little further out and have it make a better connection to the face plate.

This unit is not perfect so no one should assume they won't be playing with things to get it just the way they want. For me, the benefits far outweigh the problems so far. You may hear me say it different if the A/C controls don't fix with my idea. At my age a summer in Texas without A/C sucks really bad.

for those with 512mb ram, how is performance? also, from the picture, it looks like the rectangular chip on the back is the ram chip, and it looks like it could just pop out and be upgraded. anyone try that yet?

I haven't had any problems with 512. I can't tell you about the memory and ability to be changed.

I used a blank SD card, the flash is automatic from there. No need to move any files around once you insert the SD card with the files on it.

I should also point out, this upgrade does not have the OBD/BT fix in it. I have that around somewhere, but it was a smaller patch. Should still be on the website so dont be alarmed if all of a sudden the OBD/BT isnt working, this was the original update.

Also, radio presets don't show, but once you touch the button it populates. I have a 512 system and asked for a fix way back when, but nothing since.

i have the 4.0 system. however, am unable to get the screen working after switching off the car. radio/dvd works as music is playing but screen stays blank. needed to reset the system manually then reconfigure the whole system.

any help in the date & time? as its a pain to set it everytime i reset the system.

did set the acc hold to 2 hours tho. but if this is an issue, then whats the point of having the system to startup everytime the car is started..

btw, i'm not driving a camaro.. only have the same HICES system..

Got a hold of the company in China since I do a lot of business with them, they can't sell directly to USA market for there is all ready a retailer here. But I can have them shipped to Shenzen or HK to companies tha I do business with all ready that will ship to me..

This is a quote and I didn't do any negotiations yet.. this isn't my market so I wouldn't have a clue if price is ok or not.. just thought I let yall know I could order some if the USA retailer is to high.
