I've read it a lot and it's starting to make more sense. GM is putting the brakes on all remainder shipments until after the new GM is formed. It makes sense, keep it all stock piled to sell a ton so it's good for the new books of GM. Why sell them a week before there going to go bankrupt! What do you guys\gals think?

*I have no proof or references for this, I'm just speculating

I don't believe it. My car was built last week and is sitting in my dealerships showroom today. They don't have room to stockpile cars - that's why they sent so many to Pontiac for QC.

I thought the original delay in production from Feb to Mar was supposed to addess all the QC issues. I recall reading several threads that stated we were all going to be rewarded by this delay because the cars were going to be "as perfect as we can make them".

Does anyone else recall these threads.

But you're down the road from the plant......I'm 2500 miles away....do you think that comes into play?

Plus they got to be loosing money on every car with recalls and several QC issues. If the profit margin is only a few thousand dollars, they lost that shipping 2500 cars to pontiac michigan with the first batch. If I ran my company like this I too would need bailed out.
So wait..you're mad that GM is holding your car for inspection so that they can resolve an issue BEFORE they deliver it to you? I guess you'd rather be shipped a defective unit? Think before you post!

Well yes but some of those cars are blocking the one's that have been fixed from moving on.

Then the dealer was told no car will be arriving-not this week and unknown about next week.
My car, ordered October 13, is somewhere between Canada and South Carolina but no one seems to know where.
I am 90% ready to cancel and someone else can take my place. This is the sorriest business dealings I have ever encountered.
Not the dealer, G.M. Not only can't they put cars on the lot, they can't even communicate from factory to dealer, sufficient plans, production, delivery-they don't even know where cars are ! How do you sell what you don't have ?
Can you say, bankrupcy has something to do with this ?
I have lost much confidence and now, more and more complaints from owners are popping up. I know any new car has bugs but we were told, or was it just forum members, that this Camaro would be a quality build. The best built Camaro ever.
Instead of apologists, let's hear from others who don't have a good feeling about this.
I want to feel good about the car but I am struggling to hang on.
i agree with everything you said

you ordered in Oct and can't wait a few more weeks?

i don't know where you are getting that those of us who have them are disappointed...........THIS IS THE BEST CAMARO EVER!!!!!!

i have ZERO complaints. and the only one you're gonna have is when you back out and see it 2 weeks later with someone else in the drivers seat!

this car is worth your wait..................

and although the way GM handled the pre-orders is BS........knowing where your car is now falls on your dealer. he CAN find it's whereabouts if he really wants to..........

hang in there!

I know it's easier logistics wise to send a truck to Buffalo or Toronto from the Oshawa plant then it is to set-up a trainload full of cars going to Utah. For a truck, all they need to do is find 6 Camaros and 6 Impalas going to the same city.

When a train comes into play (as in your case), they might have to wait until they have 500 cars going to California for example and even then, the rail cars might have to hook up to 2 or more trains before it finally reaches LA.

I would think you are somewhere in between. Another trend that I am seeing is that many cars are sitting at the railyards for days before someone realizes that they are there and need to get picked up. I know 2010 SS RS knew his car was at the railyard and the only way he was able to get it is if he agreed to help his dealership pick up the other Camaros they had sitting there.

No, we're mad because GM is now building cars that are being shipped quickly, while us suckers who ordered a long time ago have to wait.

GM needs more QC teams pronto !!!!

Hey everyone whats 5000 time 33,000? thats 165,000,000 dollars. GM are holding these cars for a reason. Because after they file bk and clear that debt then they will invoice these cars and put revenue on the new set of good books instead of invoicing them now and putting them on the old bad books. Remember where you heard it first people.

I asked if the cars can be shipped to dealers and fixed there and they said no, must be fixed at factory. So I don't think I will be seeing a window sticker any time soon, hopefully will have car by my birthday (july 2nd incase anyone wants to send presents).I really don't know what to do any more, wait it out or buy something I can drive this summer. What more can I say except thanks GM for F U my summer fun.
Waiting sucks, but thats all any of us can do. I've thought about the competition and IMO nothing really compares so I come here like you to blow off some steam from time to time. Hang in there.
