We shall see. I still have a bad feeling in my gut about gears since Jason's 4.10 debacle.

Do you have a break-in period with those? Weather looks Ok for test and tune at Tristate saturday. Need to break those tires in too before the fest.

are these the LPE gears. If so, don't worry about then. Suckers are solid. I want the LPE 3.70's, and it may be my winter 'upgrade'.

I am not sure. You saw my break-in period for the clutch. The guy I got them off of already put 500 miles on them so I should be good to go.

They are the LPE gears. They have good reviews, I just hope I am not the one they break on.

doubt it, like you have probably researched here, the guys are putting on the track pretty hard and holding up. Not like the Richmonds...

are YOU installing them? I've seen your fancy welding skillz you know!

Major catastrophe averted - I hope!

Driving home today in the monsoon. Was only doing about 45-50 on the highway and didn't run through any puddles, but about 1 mile from home, my Camaro stuttered and then a few seconds later it died.

Called the wife and she came and got me. Went back after eating dinner, disconnected the intake tube and it was full of foam. So I took all the plugs out and had her crank it a couple times. Didn't see any water coming out of the plug holes. Dried out the intake tube as far as I could reach, put it all back together, and it started right up. Let it idle for a 30 seconds and it seemed to be running fine, so I headed home. It sputtered a few times on the way home so I suspect there is still more foam/water down near the filter. If the weather allows, tomorrow I will take the intake completely off and dry it and the filter, and then change the oil.

I know a lot of people are afraid of the Injen because of the potential for hydrolock. Looks like I was fortunate, but I'm starting to think that switching to a different intake would be a wise move.

Whew!

Got the wheels all wrapped up in some MT DRs.

The engine is about ready to bolt in for the final time. They're just finishing up the final fitment of the transmission.

Wheels look awsome. Can't wait to see your car in person.

Wow that sounds lucky!! I have a Volant CAI and I'm happy with it, it's nowhere near low enough to hydrolock.

Got my oil changed today, and took off the intake tube & filter. The inside of the filter was damp, but the outside was dry. Also, a tablespoon or two of water dripped out of the intake tube.

As I was taking it apart, I noticed the clamp holding the filter on was loose and I suspect that allowed small amounts of water to run down the tube and into the filter. Guess when I cleaned the filter back in the spring, I forgot to tighten that clamp.

It started, idled, and revved fine when I was finished. Starting to rain here so I will wait to take a test drive.
