It's fun when people compare cars and talk about the merits of this or that car. One should be open-minded enough to discuss the flaws of one's own car in order to learn about other cars.

And I'm sure they're all open to a friendly discussion, but they don't want to read threads about how there's a better car than theirs, or how awful their car is....it's these people we're dedicated to serve, and where the other moderators try to draw the line...it has less to do with narrow-mindedness, and more to do with a return to sanity and order....

But let me touch on the "narrow-mindedness" comment...first, it's not an inherently bad thing to have a favorite and defend it. It's convenient to lodge it as an insult...but then I can turn around and say anybody "open minded" is just indecisive and their opinion therefore worthless. It's not any more true....

Secondly - and I've got to bring it up anytime somebody pulls the "narrow minded" card - is the URL: "Camaro5" not narrow enough to pass the hint what population this site was meant to attract? hmmm?

Not everyone has cool friends or fellow car enthusiasts to chat with especially on a daily basis. Now day's people tune into podcasts to be among good conversation. Every time I leave my house I download the latest Joe Rogan podcast and listen to it the whole time I'm out driving. Its like hanging out with a good group of friends and getting different views on life because that's what is lacking for a lot of people now days.

A complication for me is when it seems like people come in any try to push their preferrences or beliefs, or try to change the minds and views toward their side. I'm all for sharing and learning, but oftentimes, the way some comments come off - they're condescending sometimes and one-sided. We post look at XXX-car and days later, we see "look at YYY-car - it's going to have Y and Y and will wipe the floor with XXX-car." That gets old.

Sure - this is the General Section, but this is still a CAMARO site, and all comments should be respectful of that fact. That doesn't mean they only have to be positive, but being suggestive is just as bad as coming straight out and posting negative comments.

Still nothing solid, hearing a decent weight reduction along with the stroker 5.0. This will be the Live rear axle to end all live rear axles.

Still diggin'

Nothing I post is opinion. It is 100% fact. How do I know? Because I said so. In addition to that, I am the most open minded person I know.

Pete, I wish you did not have a NDA. I have a feeling you are privy to all sorts of interesting info. And if I am wrong, no worries.

Ok, now I am in a real quandry. Yes I am a Camaro fan, but I fully admit, I am first and foremost an American Muscle Car fan. I was all set for the ZL-1, now I am truly intrigued by the Upcoming GT500 and perhaps even more so by the 2014. Bottom line, it seems to me that no matter what car I get, I win. What a great time to be buying a muscle pony!

Do what I will probably do. Buy a ZL1 because they will be out first. Drive it for a year and the buy the GT500 the next year. Unless I really fall in love with the ZL1 or the GT500 ends up not being what they claim is coming.

that's a good plan.

I have both cars now and I find myself enjoying the 2011 GT500 more and more. It will be nice to have the ZL1 parked next to it. I still enjoy the SS. I will likely keep it awhile, at least til the dealer hoopla for the ZL1 in SoCal dies down so I can get one for MSRP or lower. I have no desire to get any upcoming GT500....gonna build another FFR instead.
