A $300 difference since the Mace cams go for $1500 and the RX heads for $1200. Labor cost is the same $1000.

But I also would like to see the power difference between the 2 mod's.

Oh my bad, I thought it was between cams and heads versus just heads.

Now that you mention it, I'd like to know that too.

And that's with a core exchange for the heads I believe.

Head work is expensive. Add to that we have 4 cams and you can run up the bill real quick.

Cams at 1500 yes I would have a tough time choking that one down.

Install at 1000 yep thats tough also but chains, sprokets, four cams and all sorts of fun stuff so probably fairly realistic.

Custom one off heads at 1200...completely realistic and actualy cheap in my eyes for a set of 24 valve heads. I spent more than half of that on a pair of harley heads.

Sadly when you add it all up to do heads, cams and the labor to get there its gonna hurt the pocket book.

Personaly I would do cams. Skip the heads to invasive for my taste on a newer car. And perform my own install. Only 1500 plus misc. gaskets and stuff. Now that is probably doable for most people money wise if they can pull off the install.

I agree that the heads at 1200 is a decent price but what are the gains? I wouldn't mind paying that if it makes similar power to what the cams make but we have yet to see anything.

Macrackie - you're right on the HD parts: a good set of TC cams run about $600 for the pair, add gear drives, good roller lifters and asjustable pushrods and your at $1200. Depending on who's heads and that doubles. This is with people that are making lots of parts.

Since there are maybe a dozen sets of cams for the LLT in existence price is steep for the masses. Chakita should be home Tuesday / Wesdnesday. One thing that is different is the original dyno I used is an in ground unit. Have no idea if this will make a difference but we will see. Also gearing up for real time logging with some additional items plus a driver mod.

Definitely not going awa until we know for sure where we are.

Looking at the dyno and the problem stated, do you think we need Itb's to get it sorted out? coz it seems that people install it when they have a more aggresive cam setup

I hope you get good results....you deserve it.

Do you have baseline dyno results from your local shop? I'm guessing if so, that it was probably before your other bolt ons?
