Are you sure its hardware I need?

latest version is HW DB SW DD. I assume that HW means hardware.

I now have HW DB SW DB. Doesn't that mean that I need to upgrade my software to DD?

My paperwork from GM says that they replaced the multimedia player interface module.

check the part number on the invoice, it should match the one I posted. If not the latest software for the part number you have is DB. You can only get the newest software with the new part number, it will be DD.

cabbe, your dealer did NOT install or order the PDIM P/N that was on the top of the TSB, they did NOT do what you ask.....i would be driving down to the dealer and have them o rder the CORRECT part and install it.....overwise you most likely will have some or all of the same problems. As their is no software update for the DB Hardware past DB.

and yes, they replaced the PDIM, they just replaced it with the WRONG ONE.

Okay I guess my car is just one of a kind!? I got the PDMI in today part #22797218
Brand new one too

Got it installed and now have DB/DD version butttttt

Here's my issue it's still NOT working right! This is what it does notice the songs sound real garbled when I switch the songs and to make it stop I can unplug it and plug it back in.

Now I guess I just wasted $85 for nothing? <sigh> :(

Sorry yours is not working right. DB/DD is what I have and it seems to work on my usb drive. Your device may be the issue.

I have got to tell ya.....and its probably something you won't want to hear.....but this is the very reason I won't buy electronics of any sort off of eBay, or Amazon.....only from the OEM. Sorry that your not having a good experience Alicia.

have you tried putting the same song on a flash drive to see if it acts any different?

I read through a ton of these but I really can't do 43 pages...

Dumb question - How do I make it display which version?

Terry, its easy......start your car or at least turn on the radio. You must have something plugged into the USB port, and have it selected.....then push in on the Select or Menu button and HOLD IT DOWN, for about 8 to 10 seconds and the display will change to display the Hardware and Software versions of your PDIM.

So what is the difference between DB,DB and DB,DD?

Since I got upgraded to DB,DB my stereo has been running flawlessly and I haven't been able to make it act up.

Is it worth taking it back and trying to get it upgraded?
