Time to start planning on replacing the valve springs. I've not beaten it so I should be good to 20k miles.
Taking with Ryan from GPI, he changes between 15k to 20k, but he runs harder than I do. Will be ordering a new set of springs and change them out when I swap out the ported Supercharger... Fun times ahead ;o) -Don

I already have the BTR .660 dual platinum with titanium, but getting time to do the duals again. Did those when I installed the heads. Mileage is getting up there...

They are awesome -- been up there many times -- Ryan is just fantastic, GPI is among the elite of shops out there. We're very lucky to be surrounded by great shops (ADM being one of them near me here in DFW). Ryan just knows the VVT/L99 setup so well, and can tune with the best of them.
Can't wait to meet up -- I'm at the Hilton across the street... -Don

This wont help with the increase in flow variable.... but I thought it was helpful. If you know what you are and what a 2.5 should change boost too...then any delta in observed boost could be attrbuted to the porting?

OK, today I pulled the bumper back off and resealed the fittings on the dual heat exchanges. In order to make certain this did the trick, I used this to vacuum test the system:
SnapOn RadKitPlusA ![]() ![]() Found the right rubber fitting for the reservoir, plugged it in, setup the unit and pulled the system into a vacuum. Left it for 10 minutes and when I saw no remission in vacuum, filled it up using the same tool! AWESOME tool Instructions: ![]() Here is a vid on how it works... Took it for a drive -- no issues! Now my rebuilt Supercharger is due in Monday and I'll get it ported (NO, I'm not selling the other one ;o)... Next, I'm also working on the vacuum pump -- that will be nice too... -Don

Took it out again tonight -- working as expected! Very happy how the temps are being managed, recovery is quick. I used a thermal laser (@11:00 PM) and it shows after stopping the car, 115° on the lid after sitting 15 minutes, turning on the pumps while the engine heatsoaked. Highest it got was 124°. I'll let it sit a while, take a 'pre' temp check and then see what it does sitting with just the pumps running...
But, so far, working excellent... -Don

OK, let the car sit 40 minutes (with the hood up), then checked the lid temps by Laser -- it was 145°. Ran the pumps with fans (used the AeroForce to turn the fan on high). Ran those for 10 minutes -- lid temp came down to 115°. Pump, Capacity, Fan, and HXs really helped here.
This was a demo to show you can let the car sit between sessions, start the car or, let it sit with the pumps/fan running and 'precool' the sc lid. The IAT2 temps were 145° with no flow when I started cooling with the pumps and fan, then went to 140° with the pumps/fans running (remember, no cool air is passing over the sensor as they car is not running!). IAT temps were 78° in the garage. This is what I did when I ran NCM when it was 96° and that seemed to help. I also took a 'cooing' lap in the parking lot to help out and got in line, letting the pumps/fan run until we started the cars. Seems to work out pretty well! -Don

So, my next set of projects are:
1) Using the LLT Vacuum Pump to assist the brake booster (for my cammed engine). Vacuum won't get high, so this will likely run all the time. This is what I picked up: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ![]() I also pickup the vacuum line for this same unit here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/232187664916...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT ![]() This will give me the vacuum line connector for the pump AND allow me to 'branch into' the brake booster vacuum line. I'll probably mount this near the passengers firewall where the cabin air filter is (with my ever decreasing room ;o). 2) Supercharger update (ported snout/blower and 2.5 pulley). 3) Within the next 5k miles, new valve springs/retainers/seals. That may be the end of this year based on I put about 6k miles a year on the car. That would put me @ 20k since I did the last set of springs. I have everything for the vacuum pump so I'll probably start that this week. Need to fab up a bracket for the pump to install to and run a fused circuit to protect the pump. I'll scan the manuals to see what amp fuse it needs. The pump will 'assist' the existing vacuum (10 to 12 inHg) and should get me closer to 17-20 inHg with the pump. I do have a vacuum switch if I see its actually making 17-20 and I'll be able to have the pump cycle, but more than likely, it will need to run full-time -- which I believe the pump is designed to do. Still, looking to see if I can find the male connector for the pump. If not, I do have a backup plan... -Don

OK, just got off the phone with Brett of Jokerz Performance. He is going to port my snout and blower, while @ the same time installing my pulley.
We talked about what I've done to the car and what I want out of the blower. With that, I let him know I had a rebuilt blower and we discussed that. Its all a go for porting! I'll be sending it out either today or tomorrow to get that done. Next will be the ID 1050x injectors and probably a fuel rail and clips for the injectors. Also, got the connector for my vacuum pump so I'll be scoping that next. I'll post pics of the rebuilt blower and the vacuum setup I'm doing for the brake booster... -Don

Off to Jokerz!
Here is a pic of the connector needed for the Vacuum pump:
![]() You can get this from amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These tend to be unavailable so ebay or the dealer can get them. Now the supercharger. Packing was excellent and the condition was awesome. I spoke to Brett @ Jokerz and he knows who rebuilds these and said he is great. Here are the pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() Nice! On it's way to Brett for porting! Here is where you can get these rebuilds: http://www.ebay.com/itm/222380415877...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT These include the Eaton rebuild kit (parts replaced as needed) and a solid coupler. Mine turned super easy and the rotors look fantastic. I'll know more once Brett has started porting, but, these look awfully nice for the price. The shipping is insured based on the price from what I see. Overall, with the ADM kit and this, a GREAT way to get into a supercharged LS3/L99.. If you have to have new, ADM can do that for you... From what Brett and I estimate, I should see some pretty good gains from this -- just a pulley and porting (of course with injectors)... Can't wait! -Don

Getting ready to order my valve springs. While I'm in there, going to upgrade the trunnions to the C.H.E Trunnion Kit:
![]() ![]() I've seen others out there, but these have a stellar rep. Can't go wrong with these... Talking to Matt @ CHE to get pricing and timeframe. This is their new DIY kit and looks very easy to install... -Don
