Glad to see you around kga10734...How have you been?

Oddly enough, I kind of prefer my Camaro over the Corvette for everyday driving. Sure the vette has the torque of a train but it seems unrefined compared to my Camaro. I can't even use 30% of the power in the vette during my typical commute because if I actually get on it, I'll blow through the speed limit in nothing flat, while attracting the unwanted attention of the local PD. I'm not knocking the loaner, it's certainly a blast to drive but it does remind me of why I opted initially for the day to day practicality of a V6 Camaro over the SS.

It sure does beat the typically loaner car I would get from a dealership though...that Malibu I had the privilege of driving while my transmission was replaced...

Question for steve or ronslo, are you guys doing a redyno of the changes you made to the intake, and is the power gain still going to be advertised as 20hp or is it going to be changed?

Thanks and please patient just a little longer - the performance will be worth the wait!!!

We have the Vararam V6 Camaro unit on display at the Maryland Speed booth and you can order the unit at a special show price of $319 (normal retail will be $349).Guaranteed 15-20 RWHP!!! Units will ship by end of April.

I'm still on this because it sounds like you're still in the development/testing stage or am I missing something? The extra performance is going to be nice but I wonder why this route was chosen(to advertise it as ready, then it's not because we need more tweaking) other than the fact it was the fest and people want the product due the hype. Have you got a projected date to ship?

If we can also know what changes has been made and more info would be great.

I know the waiting sucks guys, but there were similar issues with the V8 version. When they got it right, it was a beautiful thing. Hang in there.

Yes, the plan is to run it on the dyno again. Just need to find available dyno time that fits Vararam's and England Green's schedules. I can't speak for the advertised HP but I don't think the guaranteed amount will change. Your actual results may vary but will be at least the advertised gains.

Like most companies, sales and engineering work is completed by two different groups. The engineering side took a close look at the results of my C5FestII 3000 mile roadtrip through various terrain, combined with some additional info gained from engineers that worked directly on the LLT program, as well as identifying areas where people could screw up the install (& lose power). I know Steve is ready to go with all of this but he can't ship what hasn't been released to him. Go easy on him, he wanted to ship these out to everyone last week.

The changes that are being made are minor but noticeable while driving. It was determined that more timing could be run during WOT, especially in 3rd gear. The adjustments were made to benefit anyone that intends to hit the 1/4 mile with this intake. You'll want as much timing advance as possible as you hit the upper RPM range in 3rd gear on the track and these adjustments were being done for that. In addition, a tooling adjustment was being done to offset material shrinkage that was discovered with one part in the initial production run. As I've said before, minor changes, on the order of 1mm or less can affect how this intake performs and Vararam is committed to ensuring that everyone gets the best performing intake they can make.

One more thing, the front air scoop may be getting a slight tweak to increase clearance between the core support and the A/C condenser. This option might or might not happen, depends on testing results.

You'll notice a difference I should think. I sure did when I swapped out the modded Airaid for the Injen long tube.

Why I did the V6 also. To practical after 12 years not being able to use all the 98 Z28's power in daily driving.

Thanks for explaining things like a pro ronslo
I think at the end of the day you deserve more than just a free set of intake, I think VR should have you on their payroll. If I didnt know better I probably would have thought you was one of their engineers

Seriously tho.. what is a realistic time frame that we are going to actually see the intake get shipped in transit with a valid tracking number?
I am #16 on the list and I didnt receive any pm or email on the 1st go round which mean probably only about 20% or 10-12 peoples was going to get the 1st order shipped out of 50 plus peoples.
So.. since the change and tweaks, does the number stay the same, or by the time things get fixed is VR going to have more units ready to ship for more peoples?

I can def understand VR's perfection, but I can also understand peoples frustration.
