Definitely need some follow up runs to back it up, I'm sure that was not the only time the car went down the track that day. Having said all that, my car is not cammed and put down an 11.8 @ 115. Maybe he got a screamer from the factory and had the best run of his life that day. I did dyno my car the other day and put down 370 HP and 380 TQ, no internals...

I understand.
Most L99s would need an intake, headers, and a tune to run 12.5x's with stock wheels and tires in similar DA conditions.

If the DA was negative -1600 ft (40 degrees, sunny, sea level track), I wouldn't dought the time. But that's not the case.

I due believe there's might an issue with the track equipment if the car is bone stock.

But if he has similar time slips (which he should because the L99 A6 is extremely consistant from run to run), I'll have no choice but to except the run. But I do believe there is some sort of issue involved, because I know (and everyone else who races frequently) what it takes it get an L99 A6 in the 12.5 range in + DA conditions.

My car isn't consistent run to run. If I let the car cool down It will run a high 12 but if I try to make back to back passes it will slow to a low 13 or even a mid 13 on a hot day. It's still a bone stock L99 on original tires with over 22k miles.

Yes, if you hot lap your car to the point it causes the engine to become heat soaked it will slow down. But you will have time slips showing the car getting slightly slower with each run. It won't just go from high 12s to mid 13s in one run. It would take many back to back runs.
With cooling time, the car will run extremely consistant times. My car runs within a tenth of a second on each run with proper cool down time.

Here's are some examples - These are time slips I have that show my car running very similar times on the same day. If a car runs mid 12s, you should easily have more mid to high 12 time slips.
For every track day, I can produce several time slips within a tenth of a second of my fastest run.

To validate the 12.5 (stock L99 A6), I just need to see 1 or 2 additional time slips from that day that are close to that time. They don't need to be 12.5s, but they should be reasonably close.
To me that's very fair and within reason to validate a run.

I would love to see an L99 A6 take the top spot. That would end the "LS3 is faster" debate.

Thought L99 heads same just different valvetrain.
But we all know auto better for drag especially with TQ converter. Don't know why GM de-tuned auto. Was it a penalty for wanting an auto in a Camaro lol

I'm pretty sure GM knew how fast all of us autos would eventually be and wanted to give the stick guys a warm and fuzzy feeling before their doors get blown off!!
