I wouldn't do remote tuning, too many people blame any failure on the tune.
http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...nce-About-This Tuning isn't that hard if you are willing to take the time. It also helps if you start off with a base tune. For the LFX you won't touch 90% of the tables, the LLT doesn't have that many tables to modify so I can touch them all. There is a local guy who has tuned LFX cars but not a turbocharged one. He has done LSA's and Procharged LS3's though. |

Got 0.4 seconds off 65-95 MPH run, I can't test 25-60 any more though because I'm spinning everywhere. Even on concrete where I usually I can traction I start spinning. If I turn traction control off the car gets sideways and I have to back off, and that is in 2nd gear. I'm also now able to look at the logs and see when I have true knock or false knock , there is one PID that when graphed it shows it. If I go to a Vortech Si head unit I will have to probably go with a direct port meth injection setup to make sure all the cylinders get the proper cooling.
I plan on going to the track for the final time this season on Friday. So far looks like a good day. Going to strip out the subwoofer and rear seat to see how fast I can get. Need to work on my launch more though. |

Looks like Friday is going to be a great day for drag racing. High of 72 and the sunsets before racing starts. Low humidity so the air pressure should be high. See how deep into the 11's I can get and try to knock Gretchen off the #1 spot.

Figure out 2 major things after seeing patterns in my logs. The reason my shifts are taking too long and why 2.2 degrees of Knock Retard always shows up in 3rd gear. In 3rd gear the TCC is locked and if it goes past 6900 RPM, the valvetrain makes enough noise for the mics to pick up. No matter how much timing I removed it always happened, but I set the shift lower by 100 RPM's and it never showed up, keeping my timing in 4th gear. It won't do too much, just increase my trap speed a little. The shifts I didn't have enough line pressure for the little amount of Torque Management left. When I originally did it my timing was way low so TM went to 6 degrees, but with the new timing I'm running it goes to 13 degrees, still making too much power for the clutches to engage so the transmission pulled more timing out of the engine to get it to work, but took twice as long. |

This is the most impressive and informative thread I have ever read. The first half I am thinking I feel bad for this guy and this v6 will never run right and now he has arguably the fastest v6 in the country and did it all himself . This is like a romance novel for car guys. Excellent work . Get out there tomorrow and kick ass!!

Congrats on making it to the 11s it wasn't easy but you did it and the fact you did it all on your own is awesome . If you ever decide to start tuning you got my money

Got the drag radials on and tried to do a test hit on an area with some rubber laid down by local celebrities. Did not work since 1st gear is completely useless even with extra traction, only seem to get traction at the track. See how tomorrow night goes, need to get my footwork down better to launch harder, and get the tires warmed up properly. |

So much for going to the track tonight. There is a Street Car Takeover event going on and the flyer clearly states that Friday night they will be at Twin Peaks for dyno runs, Saturday at Thunder Valley for the racing. But since 99% of the idiots can't read or follow directions, they are at Thunder Valley where they will destroy the track. Not worth the time or money to do 2 runs on a watered down track, so I will be waiting till a better day.

Well, I finally figured out why it sounded like I had a boost leak when going WOT. I have a nice crack in the LFX Intake Manifold. No clue how, but going to have to switch to the LLT manifold for now and possibly do a track run with it if there is no other damage. I run a 51/49 Water/Methanol mix so it shouldn't have weakened it.

Oooooh. That's a new thing. I haven't heard of anything like that yet. Good find. A little RTV and she'll be as good as new.

JB Weld and a Hello Kitty bandaid is the plan, but how many fractures are there that I can't see. Gretchen was running more boost I think with the same intake, bad batch?

Maybe more boost.
But less overall runs. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

That's weird. Haven't had a problem with mine and I would boost mine on a daily basis. I would say that's just a freak deal. Hopefully anyway...
I'll be getting a new intake when I buy my used motor. Your welcome to use mine for now if you want but you would have to pick all the pieces of metal out of it lol.
