BTR .660 with Titanium kit and C.H.E. LS trunnion kit on its way! My relay is set to come in today so I'll be looking into setting up the vacuum pump next. That is my weekend project (if the weather cooperates ;o)...

External Fuse Box

Since I'm looking at adding 'another' circuit, this time I added an external fuse box with its own 30 amp relay and 30 amp fuse.

Its pretty simple -- I bought a 6 fuse box from amazon (I chose the '6' as it allowed me to mount and supply and external power source):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Along with 30 amp relay (everyone uses these -- its the same as the bosch/varimax pumps as well as the Gen5Diy circuits):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wiring layout:

Made my own relay harness with 30 amp fuse block:

Next placed the fuse box close and moved the varimax pumps to the fuse box (note I labeled the fuse locations):

Yes, upside down so when you lean over, it looks rightside up!

Located fuse box:

Ran the harness and hooked everything up (note the 'white wire' is now the 'switched' circuit that will energize the relay when you turn on the ignition, fuse block (yellow wire on the relay) goes to the external fuse box power source, other red (blue wire on the relay) non-fused wire goes to the factory fuse box-power terminal, and black is ground):

See, upside down works (depending on how your browser shows the image)!:

VMax-D (Varimax Pump Driver's side)
VMax-P (Varimax Pump Passanger's side)
BB-Pump (Electric Brake Booster Vacuum Pump)

Test by turning on and then off the ignition and --- SUCCESS!

Now I have just a 'switched' line in the factory fuse box, and I can now run my pumps (Varimax and Vacuum Pumps) outside of the factory fuse box. Makes it a lot easier to do! All the fuses I'm using are 7.5 amp fuses -- the vmax are 7.3 max amps, and the vacuum pump is 7 amps max... so I'm @ 21.6 amps with 8.4 amps left for another item that is really 7.5 amps or less...

Next will be the routing of the vacuum pump -- but, I'm waiting on a special switch for running the pump...

More to come on that...

Took her out for a test drive tonight to test the new circuit and everything did great! Waiting for my Vacuum pump switch and once I get that, I'll have to make a bracket and route the hosing accordingly -- at least the power is available now!

Blower should be @ Jokerz tomorrow or Tuesday -- looking forward to that. My valve springs and supplies will be rolling in this week -- but I won't do anything with those until later.

Will be getting injectors in the next couple of weeks and then, I'll install the ported blower...

Fun ahead...

Inspection and renewal done for another year! Like that if I have to do this, Texas does make it easy -- get inspection 3 months early, register online -- they link up with the inspection, send me my sticker! NO waiting in line! I like that...

Next, my blower arrived @ Jokerz Performance, can't wait to see what Brett has in store!

My C.H.E trunnion upgrade will be here in a couple of days -- so will my new LS3 rockers and spring kit from JDP -- can't wait to get the trunnions upgraded...

I'll get these all prepped and ready for install once the blower gets here. Next will be getting the injectors...

dynoSteve comes though again! GREAT deal on ID850's -- wow. So those are ordered!

Waiting on the valve springs etc. Also, my vacuum micro-controlled switch came in for the vacuum pump! Next will be building the bracket...

Yeah! My new BTR kit, C.H.E. trunnion upgrade AND new LS3/L99 rockers came in!

The C.H.E. kit and parts are amazing in quality. When I do the assembly, I'll take pics for everyone. These look to be VERY easy to install! NO PRESS needed to install! (Removal of the old ones, well, that is different ;o)...

I'll be able to do these later when time allows. Probably after the summer when I have about 20k miles since the last spring update...

ID850's on their way! Waiting on feedback from Brett @ Jokerz Performance -- can't wait to get that back and put in the ported blower, 850's, with 2.45 pulley (Brett offered a great deal and I just couldn't resist on his grip-tech version -- I know, I have 2 2.50 and 1 2.75 -- go figure).

I'll get the new lid and manifold gaskets once I know its about to ship...

This thing ought'a move now once Ryan tunes it... ;o)

I'm going to have Ryan setup the ID850 tables, then, drive it up their to do a before and after -- I already have the before:

590 RWHP, 525 RWTQ

We'll see what the pulley and porting added -- should be fun to find out!

Do you have a specific number you want to hit or exceed power wise.....besides breaking 600rwhp

Not really. Just trying to max out and find what this setup can do. 590 RWHP on 6 PSI is fantastic, but now, let's see what a ported snout, blower, and 2.45 pulley adds. This will breath very well for sure and a 3" exhaust would help breathing even more, but I'm ok with the 2.5".

I've had pretty much all the porting I can do, so let's see what she can do with this ported blower now...

As you can tell, I like to experiment....

LSA Valve Covers (when I do the springs) and 6061 aluminum came in (the 6061 is for my vacuum pump bracket):

Will be working on the bracket. I have all I need to install the Vacuum Pump, so, weather working with me, that is what I'll do over the weekend...

Injectors due in Monday! Once those get here, its just the 'blower' that I'll need to get all things ready...

Started on the vacuum pump bracket (using the 1/2" 6061 aluminum -- 3" wide by 24" long). Created my template, drew it on the 6061, and began cutting using my jig saw and the blades that I used for the hex vents -- SLOW, steady, and used lots of WD40:

Raw cut before forming:

Formed (using files, grinder, dremel):

All ready for drilling!

Once this is mounted, I'll then 'wire' up the pump and route the vacuum lines using the 'V6' piping -- a few tricks for that...

BTW, my LSA valve covers came with Coils, but the brilliant engineers decided that you only get '3' coils per valve cover, -- UM NEWS FLASH, the LSA is an 8 Cyl engine? WHY only 3 per (6 total)?

I really don't need them, but seriously, what was the idea behind giving just 3 per valve cover? Parts folks at Huffines were baffled, so they went to the engineering site and sure enough, 3 per vc -- nuts for sure... $$$ involved?

Holes are drilled in the bracket to mount the vacuum pump:

Next will be locating it and then doing the final mounting. Once that is done, I'll wire it up. I'll have pics the next time to show how its mounted...

Worked on bracket some more -- will show pics after I get the right length metric bolts (ugh)

ID850s came in today! Pics coming...

Electric Vacuum Pump Continues...

OK, worked on the bracket some more -- used the grinder to shape the bracket to fit where I intend to mount the vacuum pump:

This is a section on the front just next to the passenger's head light -- its a weld location that I drilled out so I could 'mount' the bracket and get the areas drilled up:

Holes lined up for mounting!

Got this idea/location from 'alice' in the v6 section:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=11

Tested the fit -- needed to get M6 1.0 x 75 MM so I can 'cut' the bolts to length -- Home Depot had them!

Rain came in so I had to stop... will continue

However; My ID850's are here from dynoSteve (RDP):

Brett from Jokerz said lead time is about 3 weeks for the blower... Can't wait to see what he's done!
