You put a KB or Whipple s/c on this bad boy and you will be running 10's all day long on a stock motor. Gonna cost alot of money to get the maro running 10's all day long and be reliable at the same time.

Got the money? Grab a Maro and slap a LS9 in that piece. Don't have that kind of money grab a gt500. Can't afford that then grab a maro SS. Can not go wrong with either car either way.

Exactly, look at the 1/4 mile trap speeds...0-60 what the heck man?

0-60 is a more a relevant form of comparison. Not everyone drag races, where as EVERYONE will be able to take their car 0-60 on a daily basis.

Sorry, the Mullet is at the dry cleaners

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

? Actually it has merit. The LS3 is not a forged engine. So when you start modding to get to a 500gt power, yeah its not going to be as reliable as a car that was built from factory for it. It's really that simple.

This point is lost on most amateurs when it comes to building engines.

The top end of the engine is built to produce power, and the bottom end of the engine is built to absorb that power.

The bottom ends of the high HP engines are designed by engineers to take that power.

Headers - $750

Supercharger - $5,000

Tires to put the power to the ground - $1,500

Your block after you put a rod through it - Worthless.

For everything after that, there is Mastercard.

I guess we will find out - I will have my car from Lingenfelter within about a month and it will be a daily driver for me with 530 to the wheels. I would assume they know what they are doing - as they do give you a warranty on the engine as well.

The 2009 GT500 is established @ 12.6-7@116 in stock form. The 2010 model has the same motor and S/C, but increases the HP by 40HP via a factory intake and tune. Also, 2010 has more drag friendly gears. Should be ~12.4@118 wet from the showroom.

Either model of GT500 is very close to 600RWHP with simple bolt-ons.

Getting a car from Lingenfelter is not the same as some guy buying a Supercharger online from a warehouse and doing the tune himself.

I would like to know the torque of your car, with 530 HP on the ground, it is going to be a very good number. It is torque that wins light to light races.

Regardless, that is going to be one fine car when you get it.

I drove a buddy's Lingenfelter Vette once, and you just could not compare it to one delivered by Chevrolet. It was Apples to Watermelons. Really, really BIG watermelons.

Have to agree with the above statement. having a Tuner do your shop is diferent from a garage or Buddy or do it yourself job.

Regardless a engine will only hold so much power in a certain form. 530 to the wheels is a realistic number for the LS3 I think. I will not pretend to be a expert on that engine, but considering the displacement on it, I would think that's a safe number in stock form.

Now 600RWHP, well that's a different story.

Like i've said before...for much less than the cost of a built short block you can pull the motor, add ARP rod bolts, forged blower pistons, and head studs, reassemble and say hello to 600rwhp with no worries. Yeah, it would cost a little $$ but only a fraction of a built short block...and the factory crank/rods (when better bolts are used) will hold a reasonable amount of power.

I can't wait to surprise a few of those around here. The Lingenfelter badges may give it away though.
