OK, not my Camaro but my Dad's 3rd Gen. Did a little ol' school tinkering. Adjusted the timing to get rid of a bit of detonation and toyed with the idle speed a bit. The 383 responded positively! I really like my LS powered machines but there's something about making fine adjustments to a performance engine that is both fun and satisfying. Of course spending time with my Pop under the hood is always time well spent.

3rd gen with a 383? In the grunting sound of Tim, the Tool Man, Taylor, "Oo Oo Oo!"

I envy you and your time with your dad. My dad was completely anti-muscle car by the time the mid to late 70s rolled around. He had nothing good to say about them and on top of that, he still doesn't know the difference between a lug nut and a lifter.

Stripped her down with an alcohol bath and applied 2 coats of Z5. Don’t mind all the paint defects, previous owner wasn’t very careful with her. Paint is last on the list. Figure might as well make the best of what ya got!! I forgot how easy Zaino was on a black car.

LOL, wife tells me I have a a problem. I tell her there are a lot worse problems to have

No salesman or rep, I just want my tools well organized and easy to reach and find.

Yeah! The LS engines certainly won't win any beauty contests but they're a mechanical work of art. I leave the fuel rail covers off to dissipate heat. All business. I do get a kick out of the oil tank, one of my favorite features of the LS7.
