why are these numbers so low chevy promised 400hp when i got my camaro in july mine ls99 was supposed to be 420hp:(
The manual six speed LS3 is rated 426HP. The auto L99 is rated 400HP. These are flywheel ratings. The dyno #'s you see posted here are rear wheel #'s. You lose roughly 20% of your HP through the drive train. i.e. 400HP at flywheel = roughly 320HP at the wheels.

BOOH Finally dynotuned

Seems like really respectable numbers. Absolutely love the way the Bat runs and sound now.... About time. ARH long tubeheaders, high flowcats,x pipe,Granatelli CAI, HP coil packs and wires, GMPP performance exhaust. Suggest always run 91 to 93 octane fuel. Did fuse pull early thanks to thread by PQ. Before that it really ran bad. Think dealer put 87 octane in it and pretty sure my wife did too. She knows better now.

Well my brother MBAcamaro SS just got done getting his L99 Dyno tuned at StraightLine Performance in New Lenox Illinois. The Base run with the "Vararam", 1 7/8 Kooks w/ catless mids, SLP underdrive and Flowmaster catback and a 160 stat. His baseline run with the mods was 366 and 385 on a FAT AFR of 11.6! thats a ratio for a boosted car LOL! after the tune it picked up a few with a final number of 371 hp and 395 ft lbs! NOt bad concidering it was on a Mustang DYno!
Although the Vararam looks nice and cleans up the engine bay I really dont think that its all that hype others mention. Please dont get me wrong im not bashing it but its right there with all the other CAI kits out there. Thats my just my .02 cents from a nobody.

Here is a video to enjoy and maybe he can post up his dyno sheets later.

OK, guys, I have the L99. Thinking about long tube headers and catback exhaust. Did you all tune the AFM out? If not what does the car sound like when the AFM kicks in?

Tuned it out. So far it has made about 0.5 MPG difference. 0.5 MPG less city, and 0.5 MPG more highway. Depends on how the tune is optimized I'm thinking.

It sounds like shit and with a nasty drone! Delete AFM and Torque management from your tune! ASAP you will have a different car, I promise you that. You paid for a full time V8. Lol

I had mine done yesterday. 100% stock. I am installing a Roto Fab CAI, MBRP catback system and JBA shorties pretty soon. I will go back for the after dyno run too. Looking forward to it.

Any way to "tune" out AFM without voiding that damn old factory warranty? Possibly something the dealer can mess with?
