The one question I have is that if you get the exposed carbon fiber insert AND the stripe package, is the stripe package carbon fiber effect too...or still black?

Surely it has to be carbon fiber or it will look daft!

Either that or you can't order the exposed insert and the stripe package together

So the exposed hood insert is a separate option from the stripe package. Then it appears that one might be able to order the exposed hood insert together with the rear deck stripe.

There are no pictures of the stripe. No clear explanation of the stripe package offered.

This is what it says about the hood:

STANDARD...

Aluminum hood with carbon fiber 'mohawk' insert

Later in the info it reads as follows:

'This functional hood air extractor is engineered out of carbon fiber for strength, durability and low mass.

The black painted carbon fiber mohawk requires unique care when cleaning. The exposed carbon fiber weave version can be waxed like the rest of the surface of the car.'

I can see how it can be a bit confusing because they are both carbon fiber, just the finish is different.

I'm thinking the same thing. It wouldn't look right to my eyes. So, in my head, do I want the stripe package more than the exposed extractor? I think the stripe matches the standard wheels better and gives the car a little more attitude. However, caring/cleaning the painted extractor is something to consider, too...

Life's tough for a person who has to seriously contemplate these options It's good to be a Chevy guy

Are you guys on drugs? The fact that there is no option for a manual transmission stops me DEAD in my tracks if I had even been remotely thinking about buying one...

No, I don't believe that anyone has listed the total corporate wide 2012 ZL1 allocation number yet.
