Give it a bit..

At 10,000 per month the Camaro isnt exactly a rarity. Figure that between now and Christmas (just over 4 months) another 45,000 or so Camaro's will be built.

Those numbers stack up really quick

It is definitely not a secret that the mustang has far outsold the camaro counterpart, over the car's history.

And yes a lot of sales go to women. Thank god for them or the mustang might have died like the camaro did.

Full disclosure here, my wife has a mustang and has lost it at Christmas in a mall parking lot.

I'll admit the 2005 and 2010/11's are pretty similar..but to say they are basically the same for the last 10 years isnt quite fair.

Haven't mustangs had the same basic layout and measurements since 1994. I mean the fox body different. I thought the 5.0 LX vert was one of the neatest cars made. In 1990.

the mustang has generally outsold the camaro over the course of both cars history, and one of the big things for me is that, i drive to school, and i see at least 6 mustangs. per street. i see 1-3 camaros every 2 days, maybe. everyone and their mother has a mustang. and im not just talking about the current gens, cuz its obvious why u see more of that mustang than camaro. (5 xtra years of production) but its all years, from the 60s on up. i just dont see as many camaros. also, my cousin has a 95 stang, and he passes other stangs like their just any other car. but i own an 86 camaro, and wen i see another camaro, we look at each other, we acknowledge each other. and i like that lol.

so whether the camaro is currently outselling the stang doesnt mean much in the big picture. it wud have to outsell it for many many years to get to the point where there are just as many camaros on the road.

idk, maybe its just me, but the camaro says "Hey, look at me! im fast!", while the mustang says, "Hey, look at the car 10 feet from me, hes the same thing."

Well guys I appreciate the responses. I'm going to go test drive the 2 for myself. While many of you said the Camaro is clearly better, many of you also said that you can't wrong with either. Thats kind of the way I feel, so I'll test drive them both and report back. I've had Mustangs in the past which were great cars but I've never owned a Camaro. This is the first one that I've found myself interested in, other then the first gens.

It all comes down to your needs/wants. Ask 5 different people and you will get 5 different answers.

I have owned both the 2010 Camaro SS and a 2011 Mustang GT. Both cars have their good and bad and for a normal daily driver you cannot go wrong with either.

My decision came down to what I love doing. 1/4 mile racing. The Mustang does it better, has a stronger drivetrain and is less expensive out of the gate and to mod. When I put the pencil to the paper is was going to cost me $6,500 to make the Camaro a reliable 11 sec. car. The Mustang roughly half and as I get more into it, maybe even less to meet my goals.

I'm not trying to argue cause I could care less, I bought my Camaro because I like it better. That being said how am I supposed to know this guys car has absolutely zero mods ? I was just curious, thats all.... I can tell everyone I have a 12" weiner, but they won't know til they see it.

I needed the extra backseat room. I chose a Challenger as my daily driver. The Camaro is a nice car. Rode in the Mustang; didn't like it.

So for me, it was:

1. Challenger
2. Camaro
3. Mustang

As of now the Challenger has been ruled out for obvious reasons and the only ones left are the Camaro and Mustang. I'm lookin for the SS or the GT since I'm after performance. To be honest I'm kind of leaning toward the Mustang. Everything I read is slanted to the Mustang and it seems like it might just be the better choice. Since I havnt made up my mind yet I was hoping I could get a little more insight. If I could get the new Boss 302 right now the choice would be easy, but since I can't it comes down to these 2.

If you guys could please give me some reasons why I should not buy the stang and get the Camaro I would appreciate it. Although there is surely a bias please try to keep the responses as true and accurate as they can be. I'm not looking for an arguement, rather a well informed discussion between the 2.
Test drive them both...

I ordered a 2011 Stang the day the order banks opened... I was looking to replace my '05 GT (rear ended in November)... Ford made me wait longer than I could stand, bought the Camaro I wanted all along (6/25/10) -originally planned on keeping my '05 GT and replacing my '07 Wrangler w/ the Camaro... sold the Jeep Aug. 2009, supposedly the color combo I have now was not offered back in July of 2009
Couldn't get Thomas Chevrolet to order the 2nd choice (Victory Red 2SS/RS) since they had one similar on order (w/ sunroof)... so I gave up.

After 2 months of driving my Camaro, I am soo much happier than what I expected from the Mustang.
