auto trans are great when you have allot of HP and you drag allot. but i hate when i hear auto guys saying what you said about the computer shifting faster when its not true. even guys who are complete stock camaros say there camaro can shift faster then a manual trans.

It isn't just how fast it physically switches gears, it is when it chooses to switch those gears. Each gear has a sweet spot and a human will never be able to hit it perfectly time after time, but a computer can do it every time. Not only that but it can have diffrent sweet spots for different gears.

If shifting 6 gears and pressing a clutch are fun, then I'd rather not have fun. I've driven manuals even in big diesel trucks and it's not fun and I don't consider myself more of a man for doing it, and I don't consider someboy a sissy for driving an automatic. I believe more drag racers use an automatic, than a manual. Call John Force a sissy! They don't mis-shift, they don't over rev or under rev. Consistency is what counts the most, and being able to control the power to the ground. If the A6 car had the same rear gears as the m6 I believe the m6 would get beat more often even with the extra power. To each his own it's all about the Love of the car anyway.
