I have no way of telling, at this time, which sold orders will be built in March. Let’s assume one will be scheduled for production the week of March 16th…in that case, the order will have to progress from Event 1100, all the way up to Event 3400 prior to that week. We check the order status every day, so we will know when they start moving thru the system. Believe me, as soon as an order starts to move, I will let that person know."

So is this guy just an idiot?

I would expect all of the first month's concensus to be the dealer stock V6 cars.

I'm with you- even having jumped ship from the original dealer- in the "beginning" of the pack still. What happens or doesn't happen won't affect me at all, nor you. I'm feeling sorry about the possibility of the "later" guys getting hosed. I can't say that I don't agree with the "Chevy expects to fill all pre-orders by October" statement. It seemed loud and clear and did not say fill all allocations.

I hope not. Just got an email from my dealer that he's getting 3. All things go as planned, mine is one of them.

If they took 1000 pre-orders with an allocation of 67 IMO that's pretty stupid; at least initially. They're going to have a lot of pissed off customers.
1,000 does sound crazy but I know the dealership txturbo is referring to because that's where I placed my order also. It is a very well respected chevy dealership in this area....hopefully they informed all those orders after 67 allocations that it was going to be a while. I'm number 32 so i've got a little bit of waiting to do. :(

A tad off topic - But this from Chevy Launch

What about model constraints – is the SS model expected to be constrained?

All SS models come equipped with 6.2L V8 engine. All LS and LT models are equipped with the highly efficient, powerful 3.6L V6 engine. The results of our early intender survey indicate the majority of the demand will be for the 3.6L V6, however, the plant is preparing for a 50/50 production split between V8 and V6 engines.

The same statement was made by my dealer; consensus is for "stock units". GM uses the consensus to tell dealers what cars they/GM want dealers to order for their "Lot /Stock units", at this point the dealer may want more trucks than Avero's -they work it out. Sold orders are a total different game, next Tuesday, and every Tuesday from that point on, GM will "Pick" orders. Your dealer priorities those orders in the system, if there is no constraints against your order and your next, your order gets "picked".

Yep. That's their words and I'm going with that. Q3 is going to come and go and we are going to see if there is anyone on this board who (had ordered before February 1st) does not yet have their 5th gen built.

That statement is about 4 months old, and the constraints will only show up on the weekly concensus coming up in early March.

I'm the only sold order at a dealer that said they had an allocation of 2 or 3, can't remember. They said they were ordering one for the dealership, but they'd put me in front of that. If every dealership truly gets one... maybe I'll get mine the first month, that would so rock.
