what ins compy do you use...do you have a good agent to help with the claim ( they can talk to the claims folks)?
Today, like everything else, insurance company total loss evaluations are determined by a computer. State insurance regulations vary but your ACV (actual cash value) is usually based on the condition and the MILEAGE of the total loss vehicle.
As far as the salvage goes- it's worth many thousands in parts and should not be rebuilt. Any flood vehicle submerged "over the dash" equils nothing but trouble if repairs are attempted.
IMO as a long time ins adjuster.

From an insurance standpoint this is an Obvious total Loss. They will pay you the Actual Cash Value - your Deductible.

The sad thing is that someone will buy it at an auction and clean it up just enough to sell it to an unexacting buyer. You should post the VIN in this thread so we can keep an eye out for it in case there is a fraudulent sale down the road. I hope you get a new one!

As the others mentioned, keep your head up, and start the countdown to a new Camaro!

I'm crying for you, that is terrible, I hope it all works out for you but if you are like me then I'm thinking ok so you get insurance money but you bought THAT car first and it has sentimental meaning, even if you can get another one it wouldn't be the same.Good luck.

I am very sorry for your loss. It brings back some bad memories for me. Hopefully the insurance will make things right for you.

Lost a car the same way back in 05.

Might wanna show the agent handling this case this thread. The company might make their "offer" a little more substantial if their is potential for bad press among all these drivers on here. lol

Not so- Most if not all States have salvage laws to keep this from happening.. Insurance companies must sell salvage vehicles at auction with a SALVAGE TITLE.

No need, the car will go to an insurance auction and the VIN and title will get flagged on CarFax as a salvage, total loss.
Regrettably this car will end up being shipped to Mexico or overseas to Belarus (Russia) where it will be "repaired" and sold to an unsuspecting buyer.
This will be the final resting place for the OP's Camaro..on American soil that is.

GAP insurance pays the difference between what you OWE on the car versus what it's worth. In some cases, the owner owes much more than the car is worth. If you have replacement insurance (or GAP insurance) you're fine.
