Some threads you just look forward to clicking on. Can't wait for the day when this type of thread gets old because that means everyone is driving theirs and posting.

Thanx #3. You're a gentelman and a scholar.

If you didn't want to drive us nuts, you wouldn't have said anything.

That said, please keep driving Camaros and keep driving us nuts

First, the V8 in question had 90 miles on the clock so no where near broken in. The G8 GXP my wife had (yes had, she had to give it back. She is saaaad) was well broken in. Plus we are dealing with nearly the same powertrain in the Corvette I drove Monday/Tuesday, my wifes GXP and the SS. I think it just comes down to how much weight you are moving off the line. And with 4 or 500 fewer pounds, the Vette just explodes off the line. The Camaro just isn't that fast off the line. But it still pulls hard and I think a G8 GXP would struggle due to it's extra weight compared to a Camaro.

So you'll probably have to wait for the magazines to give you some times for comparison. My guess is (and I don't know the answer) is the embargo probably lifts sometime in March.

All I can say is it met my expectations. A 400+ HP small block in anything is pure joy. In fact whenever, and I hope it is a lonnggggg time from now, the small block goes away, we need to all raise a glass and toast.

Let me know when you do, I will drive it all night long while you sleep.

Man, what I wouldn't do to be in your shoes that night. I wouldn't sleep a wink.
