There is something nice about being able to mash the gas pedal at a green light and just GO without any worry about stalling or slipping the clutch or being in reverse accidently and just being able to keep the power on instead of pausing for shifts etc, but it's definitely at the expense of some of the fun. Plus the stickshift just LOOKS so much better in the car!

Even mild stop an go kills the fun of manual for me. If I was buying a weekend fun car/track car, I'd go manual, but that's about it.
I was a big manual advocate for a more "involved" driving experience until I started driving about 80 miles one way to work about 6 or 7 years ago. After a few traffic jams, I switched to auto and enjoy the convenience.

The best thing to do is to test drive an auto and a manual before you buy.

Also consider the main use for the vehicle and the other people that would be driving it.

Automatics will have better resale value.

I live in a small town and after 3 years of driving a standard I've lost my desire to drive a stick.

And in the end all Camaros look basically the same on the outside.

In the end it will be personal preference. No right or wrong.

more important than being faster, is being consistent... for us bracket racers at least... LOL!

Back to back passes during a test and tune day... 14.800 for BOTH passes... (ignore the 83 MPH... for some reason the tracks have trouble getting the right trap speed for my car... ?????)

The V6, RS package w/ tap shift and 20" polished aluminum rims,
The V6 has a great record with the engine, plus it's will go a longer distance on a tank of gas.

Manual for me

The first few weeks were rough, driving 50 miles each way to work, chicagoland area, so I would bring tennies with me, throw the high heels in the trunk and I was good to go!
