clutch Master cylinder
slave cylinder
pilot bearing
clutch release
bent clutch disk
driver error
shifter

There are so many things that have a direct impact on the way that the transmission shifts.

Tremec builds these transmissions in almost the exact same configuration for 6 other vehicles. So besides the 48,000 for the Camaro, there are proabably another 500,000 TR6060 transmissions out there since 2007. With almost no discerable 2nd gear issue in any of them.

I have a 2012 Challenger with the same issue.

So...
New vehicles, modded shifters (Hurst and others) and experienced drivers all reporting the same or similar problem would put a lot of the above factors out of consideration.

It seems to be the case that new and improved blocking rings are being supplied under the OEM P/N and provided to the overtly whiny/notchy, both people and Trannys - lol, that take the time to do something about it.

Other side effects include difficulty shifting at high RPMs, difficulty engaging 1st and Reverse while stopped, shortened clutch life and shortened transmission life. We've been seeing this exact issue for years in many applications.
...What do you think Rick?? Kinda blows your theory out the window about it being the blockers ect. ect. being the problem

May be a waste of time, but I'm willing to give GM a shot at repair, if I can find a decent tech who knows the TR6060.

Your thoughts - am I nuts and/or wasting my time, or yeah that might work?

What? Computers have nothing to do with these issues.

Well m@therfooker... Do you mean I've been moving the shifter this entire time for nothing. While the car had full control of the shifting?

you must be slow. are you not understanding what your "high performance car" is made of? computers fool. no matter what your little wrist does the computer will regulate it.

to thwart the driver from shocking other drive train parts like the drive shaft, axle shafts and rear end which may still be covered under warranty. the gm print out on this matter clearly states you need to slow your shifts down to prevent grinding and a medium duty trans will not shift as quickly as a corvette. they are covering their ass claiming speed shift grinding is a charachteristic of this manual transmission knowing its designed to under perform to protect weaker drive train components.
