[QUOTE=Deuuuce;4019763]

Those comparing the straightline performance to their modded SS, there seems to be no comparison in terms of the road circuit. Suspension, coolers, etc.

Not needed in my eyes......don't plan on road courses or hitting the circuit anytime soon. We drag race at our track here so I'm content with none of the gadgets. Great car......but it is a valid point to compare a modded SS to a ZL1 for a power and performance to cost comparison. Not all will race but those of us that do want the best bargain for the performance......and that's a heavily modded SS after the ZL1 base price. Not knocking the car at all but the price for a 12.0 is too much.

So nearly 64k base in Canada then.... north of 70k by the time you add options and taxes....

Why must GM continue doing sex to us?

So you fellas glad they threw in the A6 now?

Good deal, sounds competitively priced (although still way beyond my financial capacity :( )

I was actually expecting a higher top speed...

Not so unless you can't drive the car without loosing traction.

As you can see, I have already run a 12.11 @ 117MPH on stock tires with my current set-up and with the addition of the SC and a set of "sticky" rear tires I will be in the low 11's for the same price (before taxes) of the ZL1.
So when are you having your Magnetic Ride Suspension installed?

I WANT THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT PAGE....where?

I still think they should have gone with a 48k base price because of all the dealer installs, options, taxes, etc. that will be tacked on to the vehicle anyhow. This probably means the 2013 will be a few grand more expensive than the first release...its looking good for waiting on the new platform now and a Z28.

Hopefully this will help keep 2013 GT500 pricing low. With that said the ZL1 is a great car for the price.

I'm just a touch surprised that we didn't get <12 in the quarter. That was important to me. That is the only place where I am non-astounded.

It's a done deal. My price barrier was always 55k base.

One more tenth of a second in the quarter would have meant a lot to me, but I guess that will just give me a short term goal with mods.
Worry not friend...mods won't be necessary. I have yet to see a factory stated time not bested shortly after the first example was delivered.

There's a couple guys that have gotten C6 Z06's into the 10's bone stock. And GM's official time was 11.7....

Even I was able to manage an 11.31 @125.6xx and I don't consider myself a track rat.

I wish I would have waited . I have around $60.000 something in mine. I just couldn't wait to have a new Camaro. Sure I have a supercharger and a bunch of other goodies but it won't compare to the ZL1. ANYONE INTERESTED IN A 2011 SS WITH A BUNCH OF MODS ???? LOL If I could get around $40,000 for mine I think I would sell it and get the ZL1. I could also get a 2009 ZR1 with 1700 miles on it right now. Let me know if you are interested.
