I'm sorry, if it comes down to coolness, two words... Steve McQueen. Youngsters won't get it.... But it goes like this, if George Clooney were 50% cooler, drove race cars and trained with Bruce Lee, he'd be Steve McQueen. If you don't know who bruce lee is substitute Anderson Silva, GSP and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I'm not questioning Camaro Coolness...they are cool, but Mustangs have a bit of cool themselves.

But no matter what Ford does, IMO, there's a coolness factor you can never obtain in driving a Mustang. It's about the attitude. As long as that keeps the pony car engineers on its toes offering better stuff for us all, I'm all for it.

I just bought an SS/LS3 two months ago. I could have afforded the ZL1, but for me, it wasn't worth the extra scratch.

So, for me at least, being the fastest isn't important. Having the fastest on paper isn't important either.

I'm just happy that we can buy high horsepower V8 sports cars with manual transmissions.

And I do enjoy driving 'briskly' on two lane backroads.

Sorry for the diversion, please carry on as before.

BTW, I prefer the Camaro over the Mustang, even if there are faster Mustangs out there.

Which one is it? I have no idea, but if I had to guess,I'd say it's #2.
This is really all I (as a biased, yet respectful Mustang need to hear.) There are so many tools on Ford sites not even comprehending that the ZL1 might be faster, and just as many ZL1 addicts that won't even for a second entertain the thought of the GT500 beating their car around this stupid ring in Europe.

No matter which car wins, there are going to be so many butthurt online community members that cry foul over this or that, that I'd almost prefer the numbers not be released.

If the GT500 wins, I can guarantee you all that I'll benhappy for a day or two, maybe a week, then I'll remember that when Im driving the car (ordering it as soon as available) it might not be capable of a 8:15 lap. I'll never reach 200 mph, I'll never to to Europe, Laguna Seca, VIR, and I don't care to.
If the zL1 wins, it'll be the exact opposite.

I currently own a '99GT that struggles to run quarter miles under 13.6, does the fact that every F-Body from '98-'02 is faster? Does it make me cry when I'm driving it? Do I suddenly dislike Mustangs? No on all accords, and I'm 100% sure the same can be said for every year the Camaro was/has been/ever will or may be slower than the Mustang.

Basically, it comes down to bragging rights, but just like in any major league sport, someone else wins later and you're left living in the past.

One more thing, and I say this half jokingly, but not totally. Whoever said there is a "coolness factor" that can't be achieved while driving a Mustang is speaking entirely out of his or her own opinion. Let's be honest, Mustangs and Camaros are never going to be the "status kings", "or most amazing vehicles on the road", but they're always cool to true automotive enthusiasts.

I love seeing badass 60's, 80's, 90's, and 5th Gen Camaros (see what I did there lol). Hell, I think the T/C Cobalts were cool. I'll never own one, but I can at least acknowledge that enthusiasts enjoy them for what they are.

It's just annoying on both sides when all you hear is, "Mustangs suck, CMaro has to be better blagh blah wargarble..." or, "camaros suck, they belong in trailor courts" etc...
