This wouldn't work very well with our cars low profile tires, you still need a jack.

You can tell that what they probably did on his is remove all lugs jack up the rear of the car remove the rear wheels, put the cinder blocks in the middle of the car, lower the rear and then a couple of guys jumped on the trunk to teeter the front of the car up and remove the front wheels.

He meant they are $5k from the dealer so that way he can get a $5k check from his insurance.

So i told them to first send the guy to inspect my car and then give me the check of whatever is stolen/damages (should be around 4500-5000$). Then after that i will just go ahead and buy some cheaper tires/wheels from somewhere else.

what do you guys think of this plan? Also what cheaper tires/rims can i get wher it will still look decent but not too fancy enough to get stolen? Also when i buy the rims/tires, will they come to where my car is and install it for me? Thanks in advance.
I think thats bs about you having to get the wheels first...If your insurance covers towing, they just need the right flat-bed or whatever.
Call a reputable towing firm yourself and explain the situation. They'll tell you it can be safely towed as is. Sure it would be easier if it had a couple of wheels and tires...a lot easier for them not you.

If your car incurs more damage during the tow, thats your insurance's problem and its why you have insurance.

If you are happy with the price for the same type of wheels and tires, thats one thing...but I would advise you to have insurance take it to your dealer so you can get it inspected thoroughly to see what other damage you may have from the blocks, the theft, body and paint, etc..Sure the insurance will pay for tires and wheels, but you gotta make sure there's nothing else damaged before you settle for some over the phone offer. Even an insurance man looking at it on the street may miss something, or low ball you.

Its of course up to you, but for peace of mind and maybe some extra money to use for an alarm, and buy yourself some time til things settle down, get the stock legacy wheels and tires...nothing wrong with those at all.

C'mon kid...you gotta do some leg work here...probably dealer items, craig's list i dunno...Hell you're from NYC, right? You gotta have an Uncle Guido or somebody help you out...I can't give you every little detail...
I think you need to demand better service from your insurance company.
Good luck

Buy the LS wheels on ebay or craigslist. They should be 400 new and about 200 for shipping.

Go to any tire discount store and tell them to install your wheels. Should cost you 40 bucks max

thats really terrible. im not sure if its been mentioned before but when i had my Grand Prix GTP i put a nice 2 way alarm with a proximity (spelling) sensor. it would give a warning chirp if someone stood too close to my car and i would be alerted on my remote and if they dont move the whole alarm would go off and i would be alerted about that as well. it was kinda spendy but worth it cause it does work

I'm pretty sure setting a booby trap is illegal. Nowadays, it may even be considered terrorism.

Want to prevent your wheels from being stolen again? Just get four of these:
