I was getting close to 18mpg when I first purchased it and drove back from Springfield, Ohio. I had a co-worker ask me if I had been checking to see what miles per gallon I was getting. I looked at him with a smile and said "I don't care" "I didn't buy it for the fuel efficiency" Everytime I hit the gas I say to myself, that is the best $3.85 I ever spent! lol

I don't know why people talk about mpg on here. Get a fuel efficient daily driver. I know families that have 2 cars and 2-4 kids and they're running them all over the place for sports, music classes, etc. I am single so they probably spend more on gas than I do for 2 cars and 1 being a ZL1!

I think this is a good topic because building power efficiently is worth while.

I am interested that the modded cars get better mpg. Are they running leaner? Is it possible the computer is off....have you checked with fill ups?

I know with my duramax when I run a tune it throws the computer off.

I've found over and over that well built motors just plain run more efficiently. When I first started cylinder head porting I assumed that the motor would need MORE fuel to make up for the added air flow but the reverse is true, after porting (done properly) a motor will run too rich.
In this case, taking away fuel will net more power and better fuel economy.

Ahh...you're thinking of Columbia river that My river feeds into. I live on the Kalama river and a part time guide on the river. But since I've retired from Boeing last year. It's a toss up everyday what I'm going to do, now that I have this beast parked in the garage. It's Summer Steelies now in the Kalama river now by the way. But I got to tell the op that I'm sure a lot of us are putting the hammer down when you drive this car modded or not. And we don't care what gas milage we are getting. As long as this beast is tearing it up.......

I'll reset the DIC AVG MPGs when the Roto Fab CAI is/gets installed and see over the next 3,500 miles (7,000 total miles) what the average reads/changes. From what I've been reading on this forum seems like everyone gets a little better MPGs! Then again if she sounds better and has even a little more kick, my driving will/may get even heavier footed negating any MPG increase.
AVG MPG Reset. Will monitor and see what changes occur with Roto-Fab Install. Mileage average (w/3,500 miles) was 14.9, not sure if it will do any better because I love to hear that Supercharger Whine!

I've had my '13 ZL1 for about a month now still with 8 miles on the odo. This weekend I will start it up for the second time since having it carried home.

I've had my '08 GT500 since November 2007 still with 9 miles on the odo. It's been started every few weeks (and run for at least a half hour each time). Oil and filter have been changed once every year (about ten hours of engine operation). My displayed average MPG kept declining until it reached zero.

On my trip to Oregon Raceway Park last week I got 19mpg. At the track I got 6.2 then on then on the way back I got 23.2 with cruise control set at 58mph then got 19 on the highway cruising at 75-78mph. Not bad mileage. Around town I get 14. I just rolled over 5000 miles.
