I dont know why they are stickin with the early 70's front end...the one that Kevin Morgan did with the 77 firebird front end looked wicked.

I would buy the Trans Am over the Camaro any day...but not the one ASC put out lol

I hope for GM's sake they don't build these.

I love the Trans-Am as much as everyone else but I don't see reason to build a Camaro with a different name.

I like the rear end, but the front is terrible

Sort of reminds me of my old T/A, now if the front headlights were round with the Halo's then it would look better. It has potential and I could see a small market for the car kind of like the company that converted GTO's into Chevelle SS's.

Well, as the owner of an original blue '70 T/A... the type which appears to have inspired this ASC effort, all I can say is yuck. The original had a very rounded nose and a rounded body. The new Camaro has a chiseled body, and even though ASC has tried to square up the characteristics a bit to match... it just doesn't work.

The attached rendering was in Hot Rod mag about a year ago. More of a '77/'78 style T/A nose. But I think it really works well with the rest of the new Camaro body. IMO the new Camaro's nose is its weakest aspect, and this one would be an improvement.

I am a long time Pontiac fan. The problem I have with every pitcure I have seen regarding a 5th gen Firebird is that they are all styled after a 2nd gen. To me it looks out of place to paste on some headlights from a '77-'79 T/A or '70-'73 T/A and a shaker pokin thru the hood on a Platform that was designed to reflect the original stylings of a first gen F-Body. I would like to see something based on a '69 Firebird 400, I think thats the direction this platform was intended to go. I mean, the Camaro is styled after a '69, I think it would look as stupid as a 4door sedan beeing called a charger instead of a intrepid if the 5th gen camaro was styled after a 2nd gen on this platform.

What I would like to see is someone turn a 2010 Camaro into an El Camino. If I had any sort of Photoshop talent, I'd take a shot at it.

While I agree with you, I see why they did it like that. The 1st gen camaro is kind of the one everyone thinks of when you say classic camaro, but the 2nd gen one is what everyone thinks when you say "trans-am". Probably thanks to Smokey and the Bandit. So they are going for the most 'iconic' of the trans am body styles.

I kinda like it, but the front end could be done better. REALLY love the shaker popping through the hood. I miss my 76 TA. Never shoulda sold it. *sigh*
