I've read that you can expect to add about $20 to your monthly payment for every thousand financed, for a 60-month loan.

So, say you need to finance an extra 8K to get an SS. That would be about an extra $160 per month. This is just a generalization of course.

I would agree. Just ran a quick check - $20 per month, 60 months, 5% = $1060.00.

I said I wouldn't, but I could see myself considering a move to a SS when they hit the 5 yr mark. Then I'll have to see what the true cost is, not just the monthly payment. Just depends on where life is at that time.

There are high freakin payments in here. I paird just over $500/month for both of my 2010 SS's. Payment would be about the same now if I were to buy a new 2012. I'm currently paying $390 for my Avalanche and will be getting out of it soon. Looking at both a 1LT and 1SS. 410 for the 1LT and 475 for the 1SS.

I'm probably going to hold out for better incentives when the 13's hit though.

I traded my 2- 1/2 year old LT for a 2011 2SS last week, no down payment, and literally my payment is $2/ month more over the same term length ($453 @ 72 months).

Granted, the 2SS was a dealer demo w/ 6500 miles but a loaded 2011 2SS for my LT w/ 21000 miles for just $2 more a month? I couldn't resist.

I loved my LT too though and would have been happy to just keep it, no looking down on the V6's here because both are great cars and plenty fast!
