Do you still plug the iPod in through the USB in the arm rest?

See, I think that looks like cheaper aftermarket garbage. I don't like how far it sticks out on the bottom and I'm sure the screen for the a/c looks cheap too. I'll take factory over aftermarket any day, especially when it comes to the a/c control unit.

Must be a retro thing, since that looks like something out of the 80's

Agreed, I hate the aftermarket options for this car. I actually like the big rotary controls and the functionality is so much better. I love being able to spin for fan and heat control instead of pressing buttons and I like not having automatic BS climate control. It is still a complaint of mine with GM vehicles that when the climate control is off it still vents air through....I hate that!

I agree, I'll take factory over aftermarket any day for the a/c control unit. I've installed lots of aftermarket stuff over the years, (1st 3 cars had 8 track ). I think the factory looks way better over some of the aftermarket stuff out there.

If anybody can figure it out it will be Ofer, and I'm sure he will. Then those of us that want to upgrade to this can have it.

Lol. Alot of people out there still use the physical copy of CDs. It isn't like the tape cassette days where a new platform came out known as compact discs and tapes were no longer being made. CDs are STILL being made. I'm curious to know if the in-dash in the Corvette has the option to use CDs. I have an iPod and I have CDs. I have bought more CDs then digital music. I've only bought 2 digital albums I think in the past 2 years that come to mind.

Not sure why people are so up in arms over this head unit. To me it's progress and I honestly think it should have been standard 3 years ago.
You sure? I'm not doubting what your saying but thats just odd to me given the fact that not everyone has an itunes account. Physical media is dying? So does that mean the next generation console won't have physical CDs? Times are changing but NOT that damn quick. If anything GM shouldn't have skipped usage of CDs altogether, why not give us the option? Let US decide what we want in our car.

I believe that the majority of us wanted an in-dash from factory but nobody said "take away the usage of cds with it", show me 1 post that says that.

Bad move on GM's part.

Is there a demo video anywhere that demonstrates the integrated navigation component of mylink on the Camaro?

I'm happy, I never use my CD player and could care less about it. I'd trade my radio unit for the touchscreen in half a second.

I should have specified. Show me a post previous to me posting that GM should take away CDs altogether. You won't find one. We all wanted an in dash unit, Yes. We didn't ask for the option for usage of CDs should be taken away.

Good for you that you don't use CDs, your 1 of few. Still shouldn't have taken it away, that's just stupid. CDs are not obsolete.

im really disapointed in the mylink. it looks way to "fisher price". its just stupid looking. i love the camaro with all my heart, but the boys over at chevy who designed the center console for the camaro need to have their heads checked. IMO, the mustangs center console fits perfectly. this one just looks out of place

I think you need to keep in mind that this was all brought along because many on this forum wanted nav on the 2010 camaro. I think its great that Chevrolet responded so quickly. It isn't easy adjusting a dash to accommodate a full blown nav system that wasn't designed for it from the start. But here we are a few short years after the car is out and Chevy has added head-up display, rear park assist, rear view camera, different steering wheel, leather accent on the dash, and now nav. Many things didn't take up a lot more room or it was in the original design so it was easy to upfit. But the nav system is different. Personally I didn't want to see a nav system in this car, doesn't need it. These cars are designed for the owners to get lost out on the road and enjoy the ride. If you get lost check your iphone, your texting on it anyway. The mylink system is very, very easy to use. And as far as aftermarket systems go, they never seem to make the same unit for long so if you have any problems you have to buy the "next" new radio on the market because the one you bought isn't made anymore. And take a closer look at the dash on the Mustang, it's a box and not hard to get that to look better.
