sunroof!
Bravo mikenmar, i was kind of getting sick of hearing how a sunroof never came on a camaro, blah blah blah! I think its a good option, real muscle cars never had remote start, hell, some didnt have factory air! they sure as hell didnt have Ambient lighting, heads up display and rear back up camera, ect, ect, so why pick on those that want a sunroof? This thread is almost as bad as the v6 vs the v8, not all of us drag race our cars, some of us like the camaro design and looks, yes a v8 is better then a v6, but as a daily driver, I prefer the v6, my next car which will be my play car will be a v8, but i wont bash anyone with a v6, or a sunroof, personal opinion and choice, thats all.I have owned a 69 chevy chevelle, a 67 dodge coronet, both v8,s both restored and loved them, so i have been though the oold school muscle cars and the new, lets all get along!

Personally I would go without out. I had major problems with my sunroof on my corolla. Leakages, wind noises, just much more of a hassle than its worth. Its one of the biggest reasons why I eventually sold that car actually. I want my camaro to be air tight. Im considering going back to a 2011 2ss and trading in my 2012 lt and most if not all of the 2ss have sunroofs. So I may have no choice.

I personally like sunroofs. I like the looks of them both open and closed. My 2011 Camaro has one, and I have one in my 2006 DuraMax K3500 Chevrolet crew cab pickup.
They have their drawbacks however. They are noisey fully open at highway speeds. But they are great in town. Wanna know what I really, really hate, and what takes away from the looks, of not just Camaro's, but EVERY GM vehicle? That dang OnStar fin on the roof !!!!! But, have to live with it, I tried ordering my new Camaro without OnStar, dealer said sorry, no can do.

I agree though. I have yet to truly consider a non-coupe vehicle. Or one with spiders.

I own no sunroof, but my opinion is that due to the limited visibility in the camaro, although you aren't necessarily looking up out of the sunroof while driving, the more open setting of the cab would make the driving experience nicer.
For example, when I borrow my mom's Honda Accord, I see a lot more of the landscape around me. Since I live near a lot of nature, it's nice. My camaro is like driving with tunnel vision and I wish I had the money for a convertible or sunroof to lighten my driving experience. |

That said, I love my sunroof. As one poster said, you're IN the car, so you can't see the roof sticking up! Weather in the Pacific NW doesn't really favor convertibles, so sunroof is a great option here - they close really fast if it starts to rain!
