Mouth breathing... I don't get it. Remove the face shield - I don't run one.

Unless the NHRA requires the face shield to be present and down during a run, the full face helmet itself should not be a problem.

I doubt most people realize what it's like to have to breathe through their mouth most of the time. On a cool enough day (meaning windows shut) with the right atmospheric conditions you can even start to fog the inside of your car's windshield.

Atco is in NJ and nothing surprises me when it comes to NJ. That state seems to be run by organized labor and the Mafia. Similar to Kalifornia when it comes to Big Brother telling you what you can and can't do. I will be very surprised if the NHRA affiliated Mid and South GA tracks say one word about roll bars during TNT, based on my past experience.

Hey now! As a 15 year member of an organized labor union (International association of bridge, structural, and ornamental Ironworkers) and the vice president of IW Local 272 I can assure you that organized labor isn't against the people and exists to assist the working class!

Sorry but being grouped with the Mafia ruffled a feather!.... not to mention being born in N.J.!

Atco's policy has nothing to do with unions or corruption. Sheesh. It's just backwards like most of South Jersey. They will get the message eventually.

Sorry if I ruffled your feathers. Just my opinion after 69-1/2 years as a native born citizen of the USSA, which I realize is worth zero.

Atco's policy is probably based on this section of the New Jersey Administrative Code.

TITLE 13. LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY
CHAPTER 62. MOTOR VEHICLE RACE TRACK RULES

I too live in NJ half way between the two tracks in the state, Atco and Engishtown. I feel a rule like this is going to do more harm than good in the long run. The idea of a track to begin with is to have a place to take your car to race it under supervised conditions and not to race on the street. In my option for what it is worth is this is only going to keep folks from going to the track to race and promote street racing. So what does that mean? I am not going to put a roll cage in my car just to race it once or twice a year. So you’re going to get all of these cars out on the street racing which we all know means more accidents and deaths. Rules like this will push folks back to street racing where it doesn’t belong.

Wait, what? How?
This rule potentially lessens the restrictions on needing a roll bar, not the other way around.

True at most tracks. But Atco seems to be taking a hard line by suggesting that cars with drag radials are "altered" cars and don't fall under this exception.
