Thanks. This shop does amazing work. They are collectors and have some very rare cars. I knew I could trust them to do a great job.

I think I'm going to take the $470 it takes to get vinyl stripes and have them painted on by a local body shop.

Well worth it IMO. My only regret is the car doesn't match the window sticker now but I've already put more miles on it that I was going to. Hard to preserve these cars in OEM condition. They're just so darn fun to drive, modify, and enhance!

Yeah I hear you there, I don't see myself selling it though so I figure the hell with it I'll just get em painted.

Someone in my family will be taking it to Jackson Barrett in 30-40 years upon my death. Not sure what it will fetch with the number of miles and mods but hey, I'll be having a blast with it during that time!

So far, I have installed 3 sets of stripes. The decklid is easy, I just like to mix 22 ounces with a few drops of Dawn diswashing liquid and I also add a 1/2 teaspoon of alcohol. What I have come to find out is you have to install them in a dust free enviroment. This is important. You also need to keep away any kind of air blowing around where you are striping. The hood is tricky, keep both the vinyl and hood very wet, and once you get the stripes straight start from the back and work your way forward. The hardest part is about 24" from the nose of the car, the hood buldge curves 2 directions so you want to pull a little on the stripes so as not to create folds on the outside. Don't pull so hard as to distort the stripe just enough to keep the outside of the stripe from bunching up. Take your time, don't squeegee all over the place. That is also what creates bubbles. Squeegee uniform and away paying close attention to where the water is going.
Anyone can do-it if they are carefull and patient!
