Club positions and descriptions of responsibility. Perhaps someone from another club or Sean could help us out if we need it?

Ya I have like 3 clubs not in this area, all different types, a hot rod club, a corvette club, and a classic car club, that I am looking over their by-laws and trying to find similarities, in all to base ours off of. Obviously theirs have stuff like yearly organized car show sections and things that don't pertain to us but the basis of them all are the same.

Alright guys I just sent out a draft of the By-Laws! Take a few minutes to go over them and submit any changes you would like to see added, removed, or changed!!

Read the by-laws and everything seemed good to me. A couple of grammatical errors/things that needed to be reworded before it's finalized but everything else was good.

As for the membership fees I think once the cost of everything (shirts, decals, banners, etc.) is determined we should charge members an even amount that gives the club a small profit. For example if everything costs $26.78 charge $28 or $30. That way we have some start up money even if it's very small.

Other thing is has a paypal been created and a bank account started to hold the money for events and all of that?

I don't believe you can open a bank account for a non-profit until the non-profit exists. You can't become a non-profit without by laws and elections.

I could be wrong, but I do know from an association I'm involved with that we couldn't open the bank account without the by-laws.

Once we get the by-laws approved we will proceed forward on state incorporating. Once this is completed we receive a tax ID in which we can set up a bank checking account and get our federal non profit 501c3.

I still need to look at the by-laws but have to install Office on my new laptop first just to open it.
