Nice vids... great sounds from the 1LE.

I've never driven on a closed road course and I couldn't tell by the sound so I was curious to know if you were heel and toe rev matching your downshifts or letting the clutch out a bit carefully in the braking zones. Is the pedal setup good for heel and toeing?

Thanks, David

I saw my first 1LE on the road today... Silver (my favorite color). He was going the other direction, otherwise I would have folllowed a bit to get a closer look.

Ok, so here is some cool stuff from my track day at Laguna seca with http://www.hookedondriving.com/ this is a first class organization and i highly recommend if your into track days that you sign up with them, they have venues all over the country. So here are some videos of my 2013 SS 1LE in action, notice that i think the only car that passed my was the ZR1, which i didn't let get away.I screwed up in my C5 video and forgot to change the GoPro settings for shooting from inside out,but there is still some good stuff. Im not a computer person and dont know how to do all that fancy editing,so all i could do was separate the sessions so i could get them on Utube,so just fast forward past my harnessing myself in.In the videos I dispose of all 3 mustangs that were there. The first one was a Shelby.

I also have some cool pics you guys might like. When i got to the track on Thur.i was the only one there except for a guy named Randy Pobst. He was there doing a thing for Motor trend with the 2014 Viper,he said what a hot car the 1LE was and this place is hard on brakes.I asked if i could take a couple pics of the front straight, and they said no pics of the cars.I went to the ticket office to make sure i was allowed to be there, and they said i could go anywhere (except the track)i wanted,so i went to the top of the corkscrew and detailed my car while Randy did hot laps.

Since i had permission to be there i took some pics of the 2014 Viper with a crappy little camera,so im pretty sure these are the first pics of the new Viper. The guy with Randy isn't me i dont remember his name, but i think thats the editor of Motor trend.

For all the talk about the tremec tranny and all the issues, other then a missed shift, this thing is solid.I had 5 sessions on track,my GoPro was dead for the 5th.I hired a professional to wire up the car with cameras, telemetry so next week i will have a totally professional video of me hunting down, and disposing of two mustangs they guy in the white one with the wing came up to my after the 4th session and asked why am i in such a hurry,a very funny moment,of which i replied i am posting this hunt on C5.

There is more video i will get them up in a couple days. The best is yet to come.

More videos:

Ok here is something super cool,i told you guys i would have a good one this week.I just got an email with this link in it,i will have the whole video next week and you will see the hunt for the mustang(two actually)so enjoy.

Alright gentlemen, here is the whole 4th session i have been waiting for.In this session i catch and pass both mustangs(i got all 3 that were there but there were only 2 in this session)the 1st is at 6:10 in part #1.I see the 2nd at 7:56 and the hunt is on .In part #2 i get the 2nd,watch the G meter at 1:04,2:54,4:00 and 5:02(of part #2) you will see how hard i am pushing, and how this car sticks to the track, enjoy.

Great car. Great day, what more could you want. Nothing beats a day at the track.

Ughhh....first chance at a track day and wouldn't you know it. I started off with dry streets and 45* weather. Got about a mile down the road and the sky opened up. A fairly heavy down pour starts and the track is an hour drive. Look at the radar and we (and the track area) are in a large rain area with another band of showers showing behind it. Waited 45 min or so and it never let up and only got colder (42*). So, even though the track stayed open and would drive in the rain, being a first time track experience we decided to not drive in the rain and to pull the plug. Of course it's now 4 hours latter and rain is gone. It's cloudy but the streets are almost dry. Second guessing myself of not just going anyway.

Next track day is 2 months away. I was with a friend who is running a C5 Z06 and another one of his friends with a convertible C5. They don't think much of a Camaro. It's all about the vettes. I was hoping to show them my fading license plate and turn them into believers.

It's funny though...I pulled up this thread and we watched the videos for a little while trying to wait out the rain. Only to drool and think of what it could've been. Hopefully in May the weather will be much better and I can finally make this happen.

No i wasn't heal toeing,i was more interested in being fast since i had never been to Laguna.I am however going to master the heal toe driving, since i now have this 1LE, my next track day wont be until June as my Silverstate race is coming up in May. The next track will be Fontana which i know well(probable 5000 laps around there),so since i already know how fast i am there it will be a good time to try something new. Are you going to try the track?

Man that sucks about the rain,i remember when i first started racing superbikes, i hired a guy to take me to DAYTONA (saw 178 mph at the start/finish line) to race, i spent thousands of dollars to travel cross country to only get on the track 1 day, then the next three days all it did was rain,i know what you mean about the rain.It is however, i think a good thing you didn't chance it,its just not worth hurting these hot rods.As for those vette guys its too bad they are so closed minded,if you remember in my vids that one ZR1 that passed me on the front stretch(which i didn't let get away)he actually came up to me after that session and said how much he liked this car.

What group do you run with at Fontana? Speed Ventures? Let me know when you're going to run at Fontana and I'll see about getting that day off so I can run with you. It'd be nice to be out there with another C5 member on the Roval.

Yeah it is. I can't make May either so August would work. Hopefully it won't be 100+ out there.
