I never thought i'd see this. Conductor with a Camaro, that loves trains. I'm sure you've heard of HO models, and im guessing you're standing on a AC400? I have 2 ACE's, one of which is a MOPAC. I saw it come through the KCS from the CN in Jackson which got me to buy that one. I used to love railfanning and got to get in the cab on an SD40-2, only got to blow the horn, but hey, better than nothing! Glad to see this, really made me smile. We have a club here in Jackson but if you've ever seen the La Mesa Model Railroad Club, nothing compared to that! Anyways, just thought i'd have a say in it!

Nah, FRA regulations just state that the locomotives have to have ditch lights or it's restricted to 20MPH across public crossings at grade. Around here Amtrak has the flashing ditch lights, but none of our CN units do... every once in a while we get an old BCOL or some other foreign power that has them, but it's actually a rarity.

I have a pretty nice collection of O Gauge and N Scale stuff. O Gauge is mostly old C&O, and the N Scale stuff is split, about half GTW/CN/IC, and half C&O. I don't have any layouts, and everything is just stored in bins for now, but someday I hope to actually have some free time to do something with them. We run SD40's once in a while, but I much prefer the comfort cab equipped locos (Some of our SD40-2's have it, but most don't)

I have a question. I wonder if other people across the nation hear about the "Santa Ana" winds we get here in So Cal. The winds will blow over big rigs,so i have always wondered if a train can even feel these super strong winds?

I rarely feel any wind forces... but then again one locomotive is 394,000 pounds, and when coupled to another, and/or a full train, the weight helps a lot, plus a somewhat lower center of gravity
