went to the track last friday and did good but had to baby it off the line to not spin. Ran 13.03 at 111 MPH. My MPH is up there but my 60ft is killin my time. My car is bone stock with borla axle back mufflers. Had a 2.28 60ft. I really in need of some tires. had 29 lbs in the rear tires and still couldnt hook. launched at 2500 to 2700 each time. 3000rpms or over spun its A** off.
Anyone now of a good tire that is descent everyday driver? like not tooo bad thread wear and wet road handling but descent traction.
Considering the NT05s. Any reviews? or heard anything about them? Kinda tight on money but im thinkin of getting some extra stock rims to throw some 555rs on if i can find someone gettin rid of theres for a reasonable deal.
other than that im stuck with getting something for everyday. Any suggestions would be great!!!

Nice run and great trap speed. Yeah, soon as you get that 60' down you'll be running some really fast times.

Have you tried the "launch control" mode?

Yea I tried it with competition mode twice and I either launched too hard and it bogged the motor enough to run a 13.3 @111 or not enough rpms and it bogged worst. I was told to put 25 to 22 lbs in my rear tires and I should hook up lil better. I just hate it that I can't get a descent launch bc I was wanting a good stock run with jus the borla mufflers. But I'm goin to try again and if not I will be getting some nitto 555rs

I would suggest bumping up the tire pressure to 32 or 34 lbs. Those stock tires are designed to work best at factory specs. Too low and the tire will start "cupping" and make it harder to get traction. My best short time is 1.879 on stock tires at 32 lbs, with a tiny burnout just to clean off the tires.

My cars back to Bone stock. I had a K@N air filter in it and R.P fluids but not anymore. I would just like like to run my car in some good air not +1395 D.A. like last year. Who knows what will happen.

Went to no problem raceway instead of state capital raceway and got my quickest time. State capital I couldnt break 13.03 with a 2.28 60ft, everything stock but borla mufflers, 29 or so lbs of pressure in rear tires.

Went to no problem last friday and ran 12.82 at 110. 60ft went from 2.28 to a 1.93 60ft. I put 25 lbs of pressure in the rear instead of 29! Ive been practicing my launch for on the street and for state capital but i was not expecting my car to hook that good there. only got a couple runs in and still got my best ET and 60ft.

I have two questions now. I launch around 3000 rpms and it dead hooked!! Even with feathering the clutch after 10 ft it slightly bog and then pick back up. Should I launch at higher rpms (like 3500) or feather the clutch a little more? As long as this friday it hooks up the same.
Also I cross the 1/4 mile at the end of third and immediately after it crosses the line it rev limits. I tried shifting into 4th just before but it slowed my ET. Should I try shifting into 4th a little earlier so it has more time to accel in 4th before the finish or keep trying the 3rd gear technique. Also is it not worth holding 3rd that long maybe due loss of power curve closer to stock rev limit? Im torn bw that or losing time shifting with this crappy shifter into 4th and losing that valuable time.
Thanks for everyones comments on my other post!! FYI in a couple weeks my plans are nittos and short throw.

Raise the rpm's 200 each time till it quits bogging. Reduce them if too much spin. You can also roll into throttle sooner or faster to prevent bog. Keep experimenting till it works best.

Better for motor to shift than hit throttle closure. This is like letting off on the gas at max rpm. Shift or push in clutch as soon as you hit red line if you feel like you need to stay in third. At some point shifting to fourth will be faster and easier on your motor. Three four shift is one of the easiest shifts. Put you hand on the left side of shifter knob (thumb down) and pull straight back; also do this for 5-6 shift.
