I am staying off the track until my rear end is complete as I do not want to scatter anything and imagine I will launch about 3 grand as that's what I have heard is best, you with a turbo should have a torque monster of a car that actually drops in torque over the curve from the start with it being very high on a dyno chart then getting lower and dropping off as the h.p. climbs as in the best dyno charts of the few turbos I have noticed the torque on a turbo set up usually is way up there above the h.p..
The reason I mentioned the street outlaws is its a good new show they have had on a couple seasons with some of the best street racers in the country being in Oklahoma, not that I approve of it but they have had many changes in the car line ups and engine builds etc..... and yes they are purpose built to race, but the fastest ones are now turbos as a turbo worked its way through all the supercharged ranks up through the top ten and made others believers. And it shows interesting things like challenges from other states like Texans and Californians they spank, heck I love all that stuff even the fat and the furious..another new show, and mecum auto auctions etc etc etc. It is nice to watch and if I really want to race there is a place and a time and I am in no rush, heck I have my need for speed the run with a trick zl1......... Good luck, hey and BTW I was crusing autotrader parts and noticed complete rear ends of wrecked Camaros one was a rear from a supercharged ss that had the whole rear with cradle for 1900$ with 1300 h.p. axles.....that cost 1300$ and had aftermarket bushings and toes and trailing arms..... looked like a deal for someone as it had 3:70 gears also ...was from a 2010 though. And thought hey it worth buying just for the axles and sell the rest....lol At least I think it was autotrader parts, it could have been ebay but I don't go there as much...any way I think your undertuned and unleashing the beast is the best you can do but be wary, I daily drive my beast and don't have spare axles sitting around, or spare diffs....... And yes the turbo driven cars rev it up to ditch any lag and go mega torque off the line and spank the supercharged cars on that show.

I still am sold on turbos and think they are the way to go. Just my application is not ideal for my goals with my car. And maybe next year I will think about upgrading the rear. Right now it's not in much danger. And I like those shows too, but now that the speed channel has folded I have not see any auctions lately. I do miss the excitement of the original Pinks show. It was not so much the racing, which was usually a mismatch, it was the personal drama. You need skin in the game for that.

Base kit, 11psi, 714rwhp, 684rwtq. The cost of wastegate springs or turning up the boost is minimal. Set it to 9-10psi, gain 100+hp and tons of low end and see what you think then.

Let me add to that having my tune looked at, and making sure I can feed 10 pounds with fuel. I do like the idea of more low end torque.

Been to Atco twice this week with Pat. Latest run below. It was kind of close as you can see he did not try to cut a good light. My lights have been great lately with mostly .0something. Tonight I got my best light ever, .004. But my car is still stuck around 12.0-1. Big clutch problems tonight even though my fluid looks clear. Once the clutch heats up forget it.
Pat is a very crafty racer. Last Tuesday there were two newish AWD Turbo Porsches. The stock one was running 10.8s and the faster one 10.2s. Pat lined up with the slower one and said to me, watch, I'm going to beat that PDK Porsche. I said what? You are only running 11.3s tonight. He said just watch me. He was ahead of me and he was right. He got the win light. When he got back in line he told me how he did it. He said I drove right up to the lights and lit them both. That Posche needs time to build boost, but since I made him hurry up he didn't have time to play around. Later a fast 10.5 Fox body did the same thing to the faster Porsche. Cool to see the Mustangs represent! Wish I could. I need to put a better clutch on my list. does the spending ever stop? ![]()

Pat is not too saavy with with the interweb. So I said I would help him sell a set of wheels and tires he used for only a couple of weeks. I am sure he is going to use this cash to buy a converter. I am digging my own grave.

I am with everyone else, smaller turbos is a mistake. I had a 67/67 on my SS, single turbo, and at 2500 RPM, full boost at 6PSI, it would light my ET Streets up. Not to mention I ran into back pressure issues. Not to mention with boost coming in so early the car was a hand full as a DD with a heavy foot. Had to go up to a 76/76 to get the boost to come in later in the RPMs.
Next time you go down to Florida get in touch with Matt at Florida Speed and Power. They do good work and he is a well respected tuner. As far as the BAP goes, I was running 8PSI at 641 RWHP with just a ZL1 pump and Meth. The Bap is a waste of money, IMO. If you insist on up upgrading the fuel system, do a dual pump setup and be done. Yeah you need better tires, a two step, and a clutch to keep pace with that Mustang. The clutch I can help with if your interested. Nice setup by the way. You have gone the route that I want to go with my new 1LE. Keep it up and I may need to follow the leader.

I now have a boost controller (G-Force II ) on my car and I am looking at the AEM datalogs. There must be better logging. I will keep my boost right around where I am for now. From what I hear just adding a little boost will not change my ET much. Probably true as when I went from 4.5 to 6 pounds I gained a couple of MPH but the same ETs. Your single turbos sounds awesome. Don't forget I have 2 51/61s and a dead stock LS3. I do not see any boost much below 3,000 now that I have a gauge I can read. and I am seeing full boost only at higher RPMs. But my boost controller might be able to help with that. Still learning the settings. I knew going in PDs give the fastest ETs, followed by centris, then turbos. So I am not that disappointed I am not running as fast as them. And I like the low engine stress and IATs. But only gaining .35 seconds after spending all this money is disappointing. I gained .5 with DRs and a CAI! I have second guessed this and if I had it to do over I would just go NA with more displacement, cam, and heads for the same $$. But it is cool being a rock star in the staging lanes. People are coming down from the stands to check out my car even though I am running mostly low 12s. More speed coming!

I have been thinking about a two step for some time. I know it would help, especially with turbos. But then I am no longer driving. And the same reason I did not want an auto. I know autos are faster and more consistent. Every once in a while I do get an okay launch.
I will get some more practice tonite if my clutch holds up.
